Need Some Help
« on: November 11, 2004, 11:33:33 pm »

I've been having a discussion with some people about the merits of private vs. public education and I need some hard statistics on the costs. Most of the information I can find on private schools is a decade old, mixes religious and secular school statistics and only includes tuition, ignoring the fact that many of the religious schools, particularly Catholic ones, receive a lot of money from the church. If anyone here knows where I can find it, I'd really like some good information that is more current and separates religious and secular schools.

Seems to me that here in SD, Private education costs around $1,000/year per student, whereas the Public schools cost around $3,000 per student.

I don't remember where I read that though, sorry.

That certainly wouldn't surprise me, but I am surprised no one was able to answer my question in detail. If we don't have the information ourselves, how are we supposed to convince the people of New Hampshire? :-\
