Went up to Franconia and Littleton yesterday. Was a nice ride up and stopped for breakfast in Concord. Appears the speed limit drops to 45 on the parkway - saw the state police stopping people. One was parked on the left and waved someone down and then he walked on across the road almost getting himself hit. I find it funny that the limit is 45 there while US3 (undivided 1 lane each way section in the mountains) had a 55 limit. Spent most of the day driving through some mountain and scenic routes and went through some small towns along the way. Overall it was a nice day. Also stopped at the liquor store rest area to check that out. I think the thing that suprised me most about NH was the fact that it's so rural - I had expected Concord to be a big city, with suburbs all around it etc, but it was nothing compared to what I expected. No suburbs around it - a little city and as soon as you left your looking at trees and mountains again.
