Good suggestion, but we also have some concern for the privacy of people listed in the "Where did you hear" field. For example, if someone enters "my brother, Mike Jones," it's possible that Mike Jones wouldn't want anyone to know that he's a Free Stater or at least that he's associated with the Project. Admittedly, most of us would probably be tickled to get credit when we've gotten someone else to join, but some of us may want to keep a lower profile. To deal with this, Kat uses her discretion so that relatively public FSP figures like Jason and Amanda's names would be displayed, but not the names of less-known people.

Seems a little paranoid to me.  But I understand paranoia.  I respect paranoia.

Website visits have gone up dramatically since the election:

http://freestateproject.org/usage/www/usage_200411.html

Referrals seem to be coming from a wide variety of places.

Also, signups have seemingly increased in the last few days.

I think everyone needs to place a courtesy call to all of their current prospects, and ask them again to sign up.

It's just a quick reminder to them that we are still here.  Combine that with the post-election trauma, and you'll get new members.

In browsing the list, I notived at least 8 people (probably missed a few) who listed one of the following:
Potsmokers' Lounge
www.potsmokerslounge.com
PSL
counter-strike

I wrote and paid for ads on a counter-strike server called Potsmokers' Lounge about 6 months ago. Could anyone check the signups that listed one of those and see how many are legitimate (non-dupes) and how many are members vs. friends? If at least 2 are legit members, then with them and Randall Wolfe (our punk rock liaison) I've got a golden porcupine coming. :)

If fewer than that are legit (there was one group of 4 all together that looked like it may have been spam, the rest looked legit but you guys can check), I'm sure I can track down other people I've recruited. :)

Looks like you need a golden porcupine award, Anoncastillo!  Great work!

What happened with the awards:  the pins accidentally got sold at the porcfest.  More have been ordered, so we should be able to hand them out in the near future :)

"This is true" now has a forum at  http://forum.thisistrue.com/index.php

If anyone is a premium member, they should start a thread on the FSP.
