That's OK with me, especially if you can make plans for the Rush concert the following week.  Unfortunately Carol and I won't be there, as we'll be at PorcFest.

Argh... well that lets that date out... It'll be bad enough missing the PorcFest without trying to hold a (sad) meeting the same weekend. Truthfully, the turnout here in Eugene will be low, regardless of how much we promote it... this town is full of socialist hippies, peace and pot is fine but not liberty.
Emerald Empire Hemp Fest in Eugene, July 17,18th
is maybe the best date if we wanted to put out flyers... but I doubt we'd get many people interested in moving to NH.
They just want their medical marijuana cards locally...

Daniel McGuire:
Hi Northwest Porcupines,

We've been a little quiet this summer, which is mostly my fault for doing so much travelling.  How about having a Seattle area meeting after lunch on Sunday, July 25, at 1:30pm?  I'd like to hear about the WA LP convention and Dan Goebel, Carol & I can relate our experiences at the Porcupine Festival and in New Hampshire.  Dan actually drove cross country to be there! We'll also see what we can do to reinvigorate our local recruiting activities.

The general word on recruiting is the same as the Nike slogan: Just Do It!  Feel free to take the initiative in whatever way you think will be the most helpful.  Let us know here what you're up to, but don't feel you need approval to get started.

Since this is the one time of year we can expect good weather, how about trying for the park again?  That's Myrtle Edwards Park, 3130 Alaskan Way W.  Take I-5 exit 167 towards Mercer St/Seattle Center.  Keep right at the fork in the ramp.  Turn right onto Fairview Ave N.  Turn left onto Valley St.  Valley becomes Broad.  Turn right onto Alaskan Way, and the park is just ahead of you.  There are some picnic tables there, but bring a lawn chair or a blanket since we'll probably sit on the grass.  Look for the FSP T-shirts. As a special treat, Carol and I have two bottles of made-in-New Hampshire wine to share.  If you get lost, my cell number is 360-909-3044.

For those in or near Oregon, my schedule doesn't look good for a summer meeting.  Shall we try for early September in Eugene?

See you soon,
Dan

As I said on the yahoo mailing list too...

September or Early October would be good... I think we can even get some press out of it.

FYI, this was canceled, thanks to high permit costs, and other costs the state/city/town/etc likes to throw onto events they really don't want to have happen.
