The O'Reilly Factor is the number one rated cable news (ahem...) show in the country.

It is carried in many overseas markets.  He is widely recognized as having a Libertarian / Conservative bent.

Get Jason or Debra on the show...

How?  I don't know how.

Serious consideration should be given to hiring a PR firm to clarify things such as message, help with media strategy and in general assist with a professional public relations campaign. PR firms help with getting slots on talk shows, write ups in papers, etc. Of course all this cost money, however many non-profits use PR firms, why not FSP?

O'Reilly can be breathtakingly statist sometimes -- he's pro gun control, for example.  He's a loose cannon, and is outright rude to his guests -- we might as well be interviewed by Rosie O'Donnell.  He would just eat any one of us alive.

Any publicity might be good publicity, but we need to be ready for someone like him, and we're not.

Libertarian bent!  He's definately bent.  But a Libertarian he's not!  He doesn't come close.

I just saw this.
O'Reilly is a statist. He wants a world where O'reilly is reality. When he hears that the word "libertarian" is involved he will see "They are going to legalize drugs". He will then yell at you....say it isn't going to work....and in the worst case scenario he will rally the citizens of the chosen state against us.
Eventually, he will report on FSP so I agree being prepared is very important. It can't be someone who can "take a beating", it will have to be someone who can give one.
On a seperate note, does anyone besides me think that Shawn Hannity is a complete idiot.

Anyone who supports the war on drugs is not too far from being a complete idiot. Either that or they just lack the ability to reason. Hannity and O'Reilly both fall into this category. I used to like O'Reilly, until I realized that he takes himself way too seriously, to the point of destroying other people in order to enhance his concept of O'Reilly the Savior.

Ridley Report emergency traffic node established

Obviously there are some fears of an Egypt-style internet shutdown in America. But many types of events can disrupt the normal flow of info. In the event of a major communication disruption in New Hampshire, I hope to continue posting messages on this backup forum:

http://sgforums.com/forums/3611/topics/443509

Of course...I might have to use phone or snail mail to do so! If I'm unavailable, someone else will take over for me. At least that's the plan.

In the event of an emergency the current message on that thread will change and the emergency traffic should appear in its place.

For now...bookmark the link. And check it if RidleyReport.com or YouTube.com/RidleyReport ever go inactive.

Keep an eye on this RidleyReport.com page for improved emergency traffic protocols.

Folks usually seem to sail through the rough waters of the O'Reilly show looking great if they stay amused and don't start assuming *they* are the savior.  That libertarian girlie--calander chick he had on there did this with some success.

Bill interrupts a lot but he really does focus on people with outside-the-box ideas.  He's having a good time; try to do the same and answer his questions directly and I bet we'll do fine.   Oh also our spokespersons should rehearse in front of a rolling video camera with a mock interviewer throwing everything at them.  The interviewer could be on the other end of the phone.

As I say, I'm happy to serve as mock interviewer, but
am not quick enough on my feet to play a believable O'Reilly.

NH liberty event & govt event calendars.  Check these once a week and you won't miss much.  Some are just NH calendars that aren't necessarily liberty related but will tell you where a lot of activities are.

Plz don't move this post; it had to go here for various complicated reasons and was a complicated process to get put it here.
