NH State of the State online?
« Reply #2 on: January 31, 2004, 10:22:26 pm »

NH had its "State of the State" speech Thursday, but I can't seem to find a video of the speech anywhere online.  Does anybody have a link to it?  Rumor has it Benson talked about "drug czars" in NH.  That's not good at all.

Not a bad speech, for a republican.  I certainly liked the contrast between Bush's speech (spending spending spending) and Benson's (no new taxes, we spent 0 tax dollars on this, and that.)

I did NOT like the "drug czar" announcement.  I thought my current state, Florida was one of only a few with a "drug czar", and am disappointed that this position is being created in NH.  Anyone have details?  Any chance Benson can be persuaded away from his positon, by say, John Barbiarz (sp?)?  Perhaps we could steer him away from a fiscal standpoint.

Regards,
Ian

What would the czar be a czar of? How big a budget you assign delineates the power of the czar.

Still, they shouldn't create such a position.

Perhaps the NHLA or LEAP or some other organizations could try to convince him.

This site offers a general description of the address. The transcript probably won't appear till this week.

We should get Peter Christ to debate the drug czar when he starts going.

Maybe the drug czar could be put in charge of decriminalization studies.  :P

Can I apply for the Drug Czar position?

I'd do a good job, honest.  ;)

Maybe you could be the czar of doing drugs? Now that'd be cool.  8)

First task: making 4/20 an offical holiday.

Why 4/20?  Timothy Leary was born on October 22.
