What's the difference between a snow-blower and a snow-thrower?
« on: December 14, 2003, 12:56:29 pm »

Looking at yard equipment on the John Deere website, as part of my planning for my upgrade from a 0.1 acre lot in San Jose, California to a 2.7 acre lot in New Hampshire, I saw that there were two different accessories for the F130 tractor, a "snowblower" and a "snowthrower."

Could someone please explain the difference?

A blower has a second stage auger blower in the chute to blow the snow long distances. The Thrower only has the main auger and throws the snow a shorter range.
