Hi, everybody. I hope you're doing well.

After many years of severely reduced, downward usage, we're going to retire this forum sometime in February. It had a great, long run! There are many reasons to retire an old forum like this, but the most prominent reasons are:
  • there are only a few active users remaining
  • cost
  • there's currently no way to keep the spam bots out, which forced a moderator to manually approve all new membership requests
  • due to a much lower number of active users, we don't have enough reliable volunteers to actively and consistently moderate the forum
  • the old technology that this forum was build on is not supported anymore, which makes it very difficult to find any tech experts to volunteer to maintain and improve it

Now that this decision has been made, if you're interested in getting access to a backup of this forum, and also paying for the hosting, send an email to it@fsp.org (to be clear, the backup was done by a volunteer, but they're willing to discuss getting the backup to you if you're interested in contributing a very reasonable fee for his time and covering his expenses, like shipping a flash drive, for example).

Going forward, in lieu of this forum, we invite you to join any of our other official Free State Project online groups:

Onward!

Signed,

Vince Perfetto

sigh.... well I do hope someone does archive this and make it continue to be available on the net for historical reference.   Hopefully the wayback machine on Archive.org can help us keep access to some stuff but I guess it will all get harder to find.

I cut the server costs a couple of years ago, they could be cut more, but there is a monthly charge.

Not sure why Vince thinks SMF is abandoned, they released a new release candidate 2.1 version this month.

Somehow the anti-spambot honeypot was disabled, I re-enabled it last week.
