E-2 investment visa
« on: June 03, 2019, 08:15:28 am »

Hello (prospective) Free Staters,

I’ve posted this elsewhere in the forum but thought this section would be more suitable....

I have followed the FSP for over 10 years, I signed up about 3-4 years ago and am very keen to finally make the move. I am a citizen of the Netherlands and unfortunately I have neither US citizenship or residency. For the last 3 years running I have applied to the Diversity Immigrant Visa program (aka the green card lottery) and I have looked into various other ways of obtaining an immigrant visa, including employment and family sponsored visas, but so far no luck.

Recently I have come across the possibility to obtain an E-2 visa. Strictly speaking this is a non-immigrant visa however it can be extended indefinitely as long as certain conditions are met. I am very interested exploring this option because I believe it might actually give me the opportunity to finally move to the US and more specifically New Hampshire.

So, in short, I am looking for advice from anyone who has experience with the E-2 visa programme.

Thank you in advance!
