NH House just passed a Free Stater-written bill to abolish DST and move NH into the Atlantic time zone, provided Massachusetts does the same. Whether we do year-round EST or year-round AST/EDT, abolishing the time change is clearly the right thing to do.

I was looking at the sunrise and sunset times for Manchester the other day and noticed in June sunrise is just after 5am. I think if New Hampshire went into the Atlantic timezone and pushed that back to 6am that would be fine with me. Conversely in December sunset would be after 5pm, but sunrise wouldn't be until around 8am. This of course would be with daylight savings time still in place. Personally I think that would be a better system.

yea we spent many hours deciding the best way to dump DST

NHFT has none of the drawbacks of EDST and you just have to deal with the same hassles that AZ residents have

I'll take pretty much all the divergence from Washington I can get!
