Northwoods Oppression
« on: April 17, 2017, 08:36:41 pm »

I am proud to have killed my tv 2 years ago but have been made aware by "The Maine Sportsman" paper and by the internet of the oppression being displayed to people by the NH fish & game and by Maine's D.I.F.W. It's called NORTHWOODS LAW. This show is tyranny and indoctrination at its WORSE. Yes, the government's thugs are into all parts of our lives including our RIGHTS AS HUMANS to hunt and fish. If you care to see how this power-hungry group of FISH COPS (minnow mounties) pounced on some good self-sufficient folks in Aroostook county in Maine check out the PORTLAND PRESS HERALD version of "northwoods law".  The show was kicked out of Maine because of the entrapment tactics these lowlifes were using on these people to make the show "exciting". The people up there respect the land, the wildlife, and the "way of life" they enjoy. They were invaded by NAZI thugs to "entertain" the viewing audience. Fish and game are just as bad a part of our lives as all the other government-run thuggeries out there. They deserve our scorn and not our praise. DON'T BE FOOLED by the cute baby bears that they "rescue" in the name of the state. They all march for the king.

good to see *some* kind of pushback against these candy-coater "reality" shows.

Why isn't there a push to eliminate fishing licenses? The whole teach a man to fish philosophy is a core tenet (self sufficiency), so why do we let them sell this back to us as a good thing?

I remember being able to jump in the car & not have to worry about fish & game because we were not tagging deer (which DOES provide a good service checking for diseased animals) imho

What's to stop over-fishing? Unless the lakes are privately owned and the owner can kick you out, what is your solution?

Wildlife is a public common.  I'm as big a fan of privatization as anyone, but you can't privatize migrating ducks and the like.  A lot of species went extinct, or nearly so, because of unrestricted hunting. The tragedy of the commons can be avoided in two ways:  privatization, so its not a common, or when that can't be done, regulation.   Sometimes regulation is a necessary evil.  A commons wouldn't be a problem if there were many fewer people in the world, but when there are more hunters than deer, not everyone can shoot a deer, and pretty soon there would be no deer to shoot if not for permits and regulations and police to enforce them.

maybe in that case rocky, such regulation as can be imposed without taxation...or without monopolies doing it... should be an improvement.  fees are better than taxes, maybe there is something even better than fees.
