Would anarcho-socialists be welcome in the FSP?
« on: March 07, 2015, 10:06:49 pm »

I see that the Western world is largely against "socialism" although it seems like most people think it means something like "everyone gets paid the same and the government owns and controls everything" which isn't true. If I for example want to start a coop/company with shared ownership in which profits are distributed in a more fair way depending on the amount of work each person does, would this be accepted in the community? Reddit.com/r/socialism refers to the members of this project as "ancaps" (anarcho-capitalists) so that's why I'm asking.

The FSP welcomes voluntary arrangements that don't rely on government force to exist.

Anarcho-socialists like to claim that they are against the state (i.e. government) but FOR socialism (i.e. they hate corporations and wage-labor; they teach self-sacrifice for poor people and want "voluntary" re-distribution of wealth).  For an example of this type of person, see the troll known as Green who used to frequent these pages 5-10 years ago when I first knew about FSP.

I'm part of a grocery co-op and I love it. People can call it capitalist or socialist, but I don't find either of these words useful. A word is useful by popular consensus on definition. Whatever a person calls themself is of no importance compared to what they do.

Some factions of the FSP might be against it and many don't understand it, but many of us practice it without even knowing it. Besides, it already exist in New Hampshire. Checkout DAcres, a farm in Dorchester.
