Greetings fellow porcs!

I came across Free State Project a few weeks ago, and got really excited about the idea of a place as free as possible from vertical government burdens. As Brazil is a country with a history full of semi-fascist governments (most recently, socialists), the possibility of a society as opposed to the routine of injustices that I see in my day-to-day seems even more pleasant. That's why I'm looking for ways of moving my family (wife and two young children) to New Hampshire, a place I came to love just by everything I have heard or seen about.

But there is always a problem. I live in a foreign country, and it is no easy task to obtain a working visa that allows my move to the USA. Even possessing the required skills, I still have to convince a potential employer to invest a considerable amount of time and money (the later I am even willing to repay).

About my qualifications, I have a Bachelor of Technology degree in Mechatronics since 1998. One year earlier, I started my own company, a small electrical components manufactory, by designing its first product, a float switch for water level control, which got me an exclusive supplier contract with Brazilian's leading manufacturer of water distribution systems. As of today, that company was acquired by U.S.-based Franklin Electric group, the world's leader in the segment, and is still our main customer. My company also manufactures other products, most of them are intermediate products used in manufacturing consumer goods. So, we have few, but big (and reliable) customers, and thanks to our efforts we have been able to meet their demanding standards for more than 15 years. And that granted me a wealthy life, when related to the majority of Brazil's population. I also can't complain too much about the region I live, considered one of the most developed places in the country.

But why someone who has a relatively successful career, a comfortable home, and has means to give his family a high-standards life, would be willing to leave almost everything behind and start a new life in a foreign country, even if that means living with less? The answer might be Brazil's hostile environment for entrepreneurs, either because of a tax revenue almost reaching 40% of the country's GDP, or the immense bureaucracy, the high interest rates, the deficient infrastructure, or even the hostility of the people itself against those who succeed in life, even if they generate new jobs and wealth by doing that. Also, it might be the immorality of the majority of our politicians (or our people!), as my country is ranked among the most corrupt in the world, only loosing to dictatorships and extremely poor countries. Or even the major economic crisis looming on the horizon. I could keep listing tens of reasons why I'm disappointed with my country. Even so, most of them I could afford. But there are two matters I can no longer ignore: the dwindling freedom we are experiencing since the Worker's Party came to power, and the increase in criminality that has been occurring in the recent years.

So, I am here asking this nice community for some help with job indications in Product Design, Process Engineering, Embedded Systems, Mechatronics and related areas, either from members or people sympathetic to the cause. I know there are plentiful resources on the project's homepage, and I am indeed looking for jobs in there and even sending resumes to some companies. But, as I have mentioned earlier, there is always the matter: "why would I spend my time and money with all the inconvenience of contracting a foreigner with no working visa if there are so many skilled Americans more than able to fulfill the needs of the job I am offering?" Because of that, I think an indication from a known person might be the differential. But that doesn't mean I am begging for a favor. I am confident I am offering valuable skills to whoever is willing to trust me with an opportunity.

Thanks in advance
Rodrigo

I wish you the best Rodrigo, I've recently been hanging out with Venezuelan people, and I love the Latin culture.  I realize Brazil is not a Latin country, but the people seems to have similar fine qualities as other South American countries - friendly, open, and sincere.

Thank you Planethosting.

About the "Latin" matter, I think there is a little distortion about its concept. As the common reference for the American people for Latin is Mexico and Central America, the word is often mistook for "Spanish", probably due to the perspective of living closer to them. But, in reality, Latin is more related to the southern Europe, specifically the regions where Roman domination was more prominent. Simplifying, the people who speak languages derived from Latin, which includes, in addition to Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Romanian and even French languages, as well as derivative dialects.

In fact, if we examine these people's culture, we would even realize there is a great similarity. So, Brazil actually is a Latin country and, despite the word being easily interchanged with "underdeveloped" (or some other politically correct neologism), I take no offense in such comparisons. And I am aware you didn't do it, instead really pointing the positive aspects of our culture. Unlike most Latin Americans, I don't blame wealthier countries for our situation, but instead our tendency to blame others for our failure, when we should focus more on working and demanding more honesty from our leaders. Likewise, I am not trying to say I am different from the rest, as I am also to blame for not doing everything in my reach to change this situation. And your Venezuelan friends are a fine example of the dangers of crossing arms in face of the ascension of a populist government. Even if they specifically didn't vote for Chavez or Maduro, it is a fact that the majority of Venezuelan people elected, reelected and even re-reelected Chavez as President.

And what we see today in Venezuela? National Forces shooting and killing unarmed people, shortage of basic goods as milk, flour, sugar, oil (even toilet paper!), alarming crime rates, persecution of journalists and opposition partisans, invasion of factories etc. Many people fear the same could happen here in Brazil, acknowledging the differences. And that's another good reason to support a cause like FSP. As we are seeing here, even democracy, as the "lesser evil", can be easily exploited. As for the Venezuelans, it is a shame we can only offer our sympathy in their fight against tyranny. Too bad all their weapons are already under the control of the State. The same as here...

Thank you, Rodrigo, for your needed explanation for the descriptive term "Latin".  I used to belong to 'Orkut', which was the Brazilian version of Facebook.  I thought I wanted to find a wife from there, for obvious reasons, so I joined it to explore.  Very friendly people.  Whenever I let anyone from their know I was wanting to come down and visit the country, they all said "be careful" - that stuck in my head, and I never did.

I know two families, here in Florida, who have fled Venezuela, and I have heard of their horror story accounts while living there, and they still have family back there.  One thing about the "underdeveloped" part, one of the women from there told me the one thing she was surprised about was how uninformed American's were.  She was trying to have conversations, and she said they they know about nothing that isn't within their own boarders.  Also, another woman told me that in high school they have around 11-12 subject per semester, and they learn a great deal in high school about many things.  It seemed that they had a superior high school education.

I told them that were are kept dumb and brainwashed, so that when we saw the Hollywood type production of 9/11, our minds would freeze and we would become mentally paralyzed (myself included), and the government could adopt any policy they wanted to.  Then we could be shown a picture on TV of a scary man with a head scarf, named Osama Bin Laden, and once our reptilian brains saw that image, we would support indefinite invasions into foreign countries for any lame explanation fed to us, "Just keep us safe, Papa!".

I realize it's not all one-sided, if there were free and fair election in Venezuelan, and they voted for their own demise, then maybe we're more alike than I realize.  I also heard that Venezuelan was part of the 9/11 plan - traumatize the world, then steal.  Venezuelan has TONS of oil.

Also, another American person I talked to sailed around South America, and he told me that it is run by the U.S. Military.  He said he saw their presence everywhere down there.

One thing I would caution you, America has many growing issues, TSA, indefinite detention, no fly lists, corrupt police thugs, concentration camps, Obama-care, and cameras being erected everywhere.  You need a license for *everything* up here, it is an extremely controlled society, and it's getting worse.  America is fast becoming a police state – this is one reason for 9/11, to turn America into the 4th Reich.  In fact, it seems that America is gearing up to adopt more of a Venezuelan model, hence all the FEMA camps, iris scanners, facial recognition, RDIF chips, domestic terrorist watch-lists, etc, etc. - that stuff isn't made for picnics and family baseball games, it is made to crush a population and treat them like animals.

It seems the neighbor's grass is always greener!  :)

Surely the U.S. is not a paradise on earth. But speaking about school indoctrination, we Latin Americans have been getting this for the last 40 years or so, due to a mass of Marxist teachers. Only recently we're seeing some dissonant voices among them. And for that we have to thank Mr. Lula and the "pole" he managed to put in office as his successor. Before that, we used to hear that when the "people's government" comes to power, we will live in the Promised Land. Twelve years later, they justify it by saying they were betrayed and Lula wasn't a real socialist. I guess there would never be.

But, speaking of the devil (government ruling our lives), we had a wonderful surprise today! Our illustrious Madam President just signed a decree that creates a new thing called "National System of Social Participation". As the decree states, now the so called Civil Society must be represented in the council of all public administration organs, as well as regulatory agencies. That sounds so pure and beautiful. Until we see what is such "Civil Society", which the decree defines as "the citizen, the collectives, the social movements, their networks and organizations. But who directs these movements and collectives from behind the scenes? The Worker's Party (PT) itself! In other words, no matter who wins the next elections, their party will still control the entire structure of the State. It's a self-coup. But some form of "lazy coup", as is the way of things here. You can do any atrocity, as long as it is concealed or in the "interest of the majority".

Yes, of course it is unconstitutional! But who will object it? The opposition? The have less than 30% of the Congress. The OAB ("our ABA")? It is also controlled by PT's sympathizers. The Supreme Court? Lula and Dilma nominated 9 of the 11 members, two of them worked as attorneys for PT, and not even had the decency of declaring themselves impeded in the recent "Mensalao" case (a major bribery scheme installed on the Congress), in which many convicts were PT's partisans, including two of Lula's most influential Ministers, as well as the treasurer of his first presidential campaign. Not surprisingly, the majority of PT-nominated judges voted for their acquittal. Fortunately, Joaquim Barbosa, the President of the Court ignored Lula's "patronage" and lead a group of judges who at least was able to declare them guilty, although with very light sentences. Naturally, Lula remembered Barbosa he was only nominated because of his skin color, and called him ungrateful. But, of course, as Lula wasn't even listed as a defendant on the process he was the greatest beneficiary, why would he be accused of racism? After all, he was born poor, naked and analphabet! And today, together with the sad news we have just received, Barbosa also announced his retirement, leaving one more open spot for another PT indication...

So, I guess we "won"! America's grass is still way greener than Brazil's or Venezuela's. As worrying as U.S. government's recent actions are, there is still a lot of ground to cover before you get anything closer to what is happening here. God have mercy!

God have mercy, indeed.

Thank you for your valuable personal insight into Brazil.  I agree with you that there could be more time in America until we slide into the political farce that is Brazil.  But, our system may be as bad in a different way, ours is done all under 'mind control'.  1/2 of the people were brainwashed to favor of the invasion wars, where brown children are slaughtered, 1/2 are brainwashed to favor Obama-Care, where the people who slaughter brown children will be in charge of your liver.

We may not have the clownish banana republic that Brasil has, but, we are under mind control: the TV, the churches, the magazines, books, radio, newspapers, music, Hollywood, Disney, schools, political parties, mind sciences, new age, sciences, colleges, etc...from BIRTH!

However, I see the table set for Americans disappearing and being hung upside down in FEMA camps.  I talked to a woman at Miami airport, she just witnessed a woman being wisked away by plain clothes people, she was in line with her to get tickets, she said five or six plain clothes people came out of nowhere and grabbed her and disappeared.  Where I live, I have seen twice, unmarked cars come out of nowhere to assist in police matters, and even for some verbal argument in a home improvement store parking lot, they just /happened' to be there – you would have never guessed that they were government, just regular everyday cars, probably stolen by the police state.

If you look at the Executive Orders created after 9/11 (another member just shared one with me = http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-05-29/meet-directive-302518-granting-obama-authority-use-military-force-against-civilians where it is approved to murder citizens), I think “they” have some special and nifty plans for us, that involves thousands of gallons of blood.  What you've seen in Iraq – thay are going to do here, in fact, they bringing home equipment and troopes and displacing them here, along with soldiers, drones, and armored personal carriers!!!

What's it all mean?  I believe that Rome never fell, it morphed into the “Roman Catholic Church/Vatican” to adjust for the Age of Pisces, 2000 years ago.  “The City of London” is their bank, and “Washington DC” is their military arm.  The three form “The Empire of the City”, with the Vatican/Jesuit Order being the big-boss.  We are all ruled and owned by these sick Satan worshipping bastards.  Our governments are puppet governments who answer to Rome/the Jesuit Order, either directly through secret societies, or via secret council meetings, or via London (eg – ABA and your form of the BAR association, OAB, is ruled by the International Bar Association – which answers to the Queen, in all her horey glory).

You and I may share the same owners, brother!  What a great world!!

PS - have you ever seen the movie "Brazil"? - it seems to be predictive programming, from what I remember, sorta like "Robo-Cop".

Here is a little information about the "BAR Association":

PS - notice how their logo forms a pyramid with the capstone missing, same as on our $1 bill?  Our legal/"justice" system is a hoax and a sham.

Agreed, I also believe that the "criminal justice" system is the largest terrorist network in the country.

B.A.R.  British Accredited Association

Nope.  Bar is "bar," not "B.A.R." - it's not an acronym (and, if it was, then your proposed wording would be "B.A.A.," not "B.A.R.").  It means the bar the separates the audience from the active portion of the courtroom, where the participants sit.  Those who are "admitted to the bar" are literally those for whom the gate is opened so they can work on that side of the bar.

You can argue about whether that means they are biased, but please avoid spreading falsehoods.

Actually, that particular falsehood has been pretty thoroughly debunked.  It originated with a guy named Rice who was later exposed as an FBI mole who had been attempting to discredit the liberty movement by inserting such nonsense and getting it repeated.  So, if you keep repeating that, you are quite literally doing the FBI's dirty work for them.

Ok, then tell me the difference between an Attorney, or Attorney [at] Law, and a Lawyer, or a Counselor as in Counsel, or an Arbitrator.  Your bar your talking about is referred to as the railing, passing pass the rail towards the bench. Hint, the different goes back to the 1896 Law dictionary, also 1999 Law dictionary. Now lets talk about Esquire? There is a Big difference, wikipedia won,t give you the truth. BAR. Attorneys are akin to the deadly Popery that plagued medieval Europe, where the task masters would sell "indulgences", and deal in extensive legalistic book knowledge, torture, disunification of families, and metal cages.  Only this time, the highest order is not a man wearing a white gown holding a scepter, but a man or woman wearing a black gown, holding a gavel.  Same oppressors from the underworld, and the same thirst for blood, under the same guise of aiding and assisting.
