Looking for new IT work, preferably in security.
« on: March 26, 2014, 07:23:55 pm »

Been a while since I posted on here. I've been in TN for the last 6 years, working for Dell.  Rode out the economy which is still questionable as we all know.  Only two places I see really above the curve is NH and ND, and the latter is due to the oil boom there.

Well, I'm not an "Ice Road Trucker" or anything like that just an IT specialist that's been stuck doing support for years.  That doesn't mean I haven't been doing anything else:  I completed my bachelor degree finally (had just a 2-year AAS degree) and am working from the bottom up on certifications. A+, Network+, and Security+ are ones I have now, including this certification no one seems to have heard of: http://iccp.org/certification/designations/isa.

So I have lots of experience and breadth of that experience, but to specialize more I need something entry-to-mid-level in IT security or networking that I can then prove myself to that employer and move up.  I am not in a hurry, because I have a house to sell and still have my job here.  However, NH is the one place I feel where I could get out and make a difference or at least enjoy life and feel that I belong.

I am looking at the job sites, but if anyone has an insight to the IT industry there I would appreciate it.  Also, I am open to moving anywhere in-state but it seems like Manchester/Concord area seems to be the best bet, or Portsmouth.
