Are judges elected?

If so, how does it work? In New Jersey, judges are all appointed, but I know some states like New York elect them.

Actually, you also elect more than that. You elect your house and State senate, and local reps plus more. But Judges are anointed to positions, and are under Oath per Perjury to care out Their Constitutional protection of ALL citizens and be the most Honorable citizen in the County.  Thats why they have the title of your Honor, once they lose that respect, the people have their choice to tell governor to replace as soon as possible.  Govt. only gets the Authority from the Consent of The PEOPLE???????????????

In NY most are appointed but a few of the town judges are elected.
There are probably laws that require you to be Bar-passed though.
I always think it would be weird just to, if no jury, automatically say "not-guilty" for all drug and certain other related crimes.
Defendants would want my court because a trial isn't even needed.
I would likely be thrown out quickly if I did that. :(
