Coming to Porcfest from overseas; no idea what to do
« on: February 28, 2014, 08:15:32 pm »

Hi everyone

I am an Australian who will be travelling in the US through June, and plan on going to Porcfest. I've already got my ticket.

I am a younger guy in my early 20s and was hoping to arrange lodging/travelling before I get there.

If anyone has any tips or is looking for someone to travel/stay with let me know. Also, I would be interested in any accommodation for before/after Porcfest (preferably in Manchester), as I am considering staying on for a month or two afterwards to check out the Free State Project with the idea of possibly moving to NH.

Thanks!

For pure NH adventure, unrelated to porcfest or the liberty movement, know that Lancaster is in and near a world class hiking destination.  You can find information and links here http://www.hikethewhites.com/huts.html.  Of note, the Appalachian Mountain Club runs huts along the trails where you might arrange lodging or even work for lodging it meals.  Note that June may be slightly early unless we have a very warm spring, as some trails may still have snow.

Along the trail, the hikers tend to be of a more liberal persuasion, but all enjoying the bounty of NH.

Thanks guys

I see there are forums for arranging lodging/travelling groups, but they aren't very active at the moment.

When do most people start organising their trip? I guess I am a bit early.
