Entry Level Embedded Programmer - Manchester

Optics 1, Inc., a leading manufacturer of Night Vision and Electro Optical Devices is in search of a motivated, self-starter seeking a career with a growing, fast paced company where their designs will become production reality. As a member of our technical staff you will be part of a small engineering team and responsible for the development of electronic hardware for a variety of mixed signal, microcontroller, microprocessor and DSP based projects from concept to production.

This entry level position requires a BS/MS CE/EE or equivalent and 0 to 3 years’ experience programming of embedded microcontrollers or digital signal processors. The successful candidate will be directly involved in the  development of  embedded control systems for a wide variety of analog and digital circuitry used in products such as thermal imaging systems, positional awareness and geo-location systems, and laser rangefinders.


    Design, development and de-bug of embedded software for new products
    Code enhancement and bug-fixes for existing products
    Work with Electrical Engineering and Product Managers on successful new product introduction
    Support production lines to resolve problems and reduce or eliminate down time


    BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering
    Strong C / C++ programming and debugging skills ( JAVA / C# a plus )
    Familiariarty with embedded platforms and RTOS
    Understanding of embedded communication protocols
    Good written, verbal, and in-person communication skills

Desired Experience

    Previous experience or graduate work in the electro-optics field
    Familiar with the use of oscilloscopes and other lab equipment
    Exposure to schematic capture tools and/or printed wiring board design
    User Interface Design
    Embedded Linux development
    Mobile and Web app experience a plus
