Hmm besides a few conservatives on Foxnews I don't know of anyone who considered Palin a figurehead of the tea party. From what I have seen Ran Paul has been considered very influential.
The original tea party was started by Ron Paul and the paleoconservative movement to fight socialism and excessive taxation. Now the entire movement's been hijacked by Sarah Palin and neocons who want more gov. but put on the image they want less.
I don't know about Sarah Palin, but most of the people who label themselves tea partiers also call themselves constitutional conservatives, which is what Ran Paul labels himself.
I know a lot of anarcho-capitalists and liberty lovers who want to distance themselves from the tea party for a number of reasons. For one thing theyve been hijacked by big government neocons after they were started by Ron Paul.
The original Tea Party was over 200 years ago. And Ron Paul is not an anarchist... nor anything vaguely close.
Tea Pariters are also not constitutional conservatives... unless that means only holding the constitution valid when it suits your wishes.
He's said he's an anarchist many times.
no he hasn't.
He adheres to Austrian economics which is anarcho-capitalism. He follows Mises, Rothbard and Lew Rockwell who were all anarchists.
you do not understand Austrian economics. Mises was not an anarchist. Neither were Hayek, Menger, Böhm-Bawerk, von Wieser, nor Schumpeter.
Austrian economics is value free. When Rothbard talks about anarchy, he is no longer talking as an Austrian, but as a libertarian.
