Small, very helpful changes for porcfest2010.com
« on: May 17, 2010, 09:00:33 am »

http://porcfest2010.com

I won't rehash here the thread on FSP-IT.
However, I do have three hopefully constructive and simple (5 mins or less) suggestions for porcfest2010.com
In order of importance:

1) Please, please, please change the "Forum" menu link to point to the actual FSP PF forum (http://forum.freestateproject.org/index.php?board=60.0). A visitor who doesn't know any better will be completely unaware he's missing 99% of the size of the actual FSP community.

2) Thank you for putting the FSP logo in the upper right-hand side of the banner. Can this be made into a link to the FSP website please?

3) The front page post about bringing Badnarik to PF says there are 30 seats and "only 29 seats left!" -- that looks pretty desperate, and is presumably out of date. Please just remove the static number of seats left :)

This is being discussed right now.

This is not easily accomplished, because the top banner is actually in the background, therefore not clickable. The words "Free State Project" in the top banner are a link, however.

Addressed, thanks.

Thanks for addressing these concerns.

Actually it is trivially accomplished with a client-side imagemap:

Since you're using Drupal, I'll make it easy :)

We're not using Drupal, and the map tag can indeed be used to accomplish what you're asking for, but I never seen it applied to a background image. AFAIK you need to have an actual image, embedded using <img />. The graphic in the top is simply a background applied via CSS.

Ahh. CSS.
I knew I never wanted to know anything about CSS cause it would only piss me off  :P
