how to get from BOS to Rogers?
« on: April 17, 2010, 09:41:45 am »

Hey all,
After sitting on the sidelines for 5 years, I'm finally comeing to my 1st fsp event, the 2010 porcfest.

I booked a room at the motel, but need a ride up from the airport.  If I go through BOS, I use much fewer freq flyer miles...and its only an hour further away.

Is anyone driving up from that area on Thursday afternoon?

Ill be happy to pay for gas the whole way up.

I'm also looking for a place to crash Sunday night...

I'm 43, male, professional and safe.
Thanks!
Doug Scribner

And personally known by me, Ron Helwig, if that helps anyone. I knew Doug back in Minnesota, and certainly would like him to move here.

I'll be going to roger's from Ipswich, which is just north of boston and can pick you up.

Other options would be renting a car or taking a bus to Manchester or Concord and having someone pick you up from there.  Basically, you either need to work out a deal where someone drives you or rent a car.

When I didn't live in NH, I'd fly into Manchester airport and rent a car for the week.  It worked out very well for me and was never expensive.  If you research, you can often find deals where you get car rental 25% to 50% off regular prices.

Take a bus to Concord from Logan.

Tons of people will be passing right thru Concord on their way to Porcfest!

Or...go to Littleton on the Bus from Logan.

20 miles between Littleton and Roger's.

I can vouch for the Boston Express bus.  It's comfortable and reasonable.  There is even wifi on the bus.

Wish I'd known about this before booking my flight to Manchester.

Oh well, I don't think the airfare savings by flying into Boston would have even paid for the round-trip bus ticket (but maybe if I had used JetBlue).

If you need a ride from Manchester, post it here.
Call me if you're in a pinch.  I'll be going up on Thursday sometime.
