any free campsites/places to just throw up tent for night near Wolfeboro?

Thinking about going up to Wolfeboro area this weekend (labor day) to check out some perspective houses. All the campgrounds I have checked out online either are booked, don't allow pets, only allow RV's. Just wondering if there is anyplace that is safe that we could just put up a tent for the night. My party consists of 3 adults and 2 dogs. We are coming up from RI. Any suggestions or info would be appreciated  :)
