Another great idea from katieoliberty
« on: January 23, 2009, 08:14:34 pm »

Anyone besides me want to see Niagara Falls?

I think I might fly into Buffalo, rent a car, see them falls, then spend a couple days driving to the PorcFest; ultimately flying back to California from Manchester.

Anyone else who wants to do this, while sharing a rental car, driving (possibly hotel rooms, too) let me know.

When we came up from AZ last year, we took our time sightseeing. The stop at Niagara was totally worth it. I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't been.

I will say as a person who grew up in the Falls area try and get to the Canadian side of the Falls the view from over there is really nice the American side is not the best view. On the Canadian side they have some nice tours like the Maid of the Mist which is a boat ride up the river to the falls and you get very wet. Another tour would be the caves that are behind the falls I think they are called the winds caves.

You may notice your attitude change because of the negative Ions that are created by the falls and can make you feel nice. If you do go and see the falls when you are looking at the water falling remember much of the water is being diverted to the power generation and not going over the falls and the falls may seem like a stationary object but they are slowly moving to the west.

For millions of years, mankind lived just like the animals. Then something happened which unleashed the power of our imagination. We learned to talk and we learned to listen. Speech has allowed the communication of ideas, enabling human beings to work together to build the impossible. Mankind's greatest achievements have come about by talking, and its greatest failures by not talking. It doesn't have to be like this. Our greatest hopes could become reality in the future. With the technology at our disposal, the possibilities are unbounded. All we need to do is make sure we keep talking.  -Stephen Hawking

I recall hearing of a law that allows denial of reentry to the US of anyone deemed to be an anarchist (supposedly, it was used to keep out Charlie Chaplin).  Is that still extant?  If I go to Niagara Falls, will I have to come back home in a barrel?

If you do, it would be a great PR stunt!

Uh oh.

I can probably make a convincing argument that I am NOT an anarchist, as I hold an elected office. What kind of self-respecting anarchist holds elective office?????

Perhaps one who’s trying to use the system to undermine itself?

Vote against anything that involves the least bit of State aggression. Vote in favor of anything that further restricts the State’s ability to commit aggression.

Oooo Canada.
Let's see,
Got my special RFID passport card.
Got a fist full of Canadian Dollars.
1oz Maple Leaf gold coins too!
OOPS! I'm on "the list".
NO ENTRY!

What could I have done that currently finds me with Canadian Felon status, yet doesn't impede  my
N.H. CCL licence?
