The Make up of FSP
« on: January 04, 2009, 06:11:10 pm »

I'm thinking about moving, but I'd like to know what FSP people really believe.  Are they atheists?  Are they confused socialists.  Are they just looking for adventure?
I think this venture will not get very far without God's help.

There are 700 Free Staters here with 700 different and unique perspectives on religion, philosophy, and life.  Please don't try to look for generalizations, other than we all want to be left alone by government and be freer in our private and public lives.
I'm sure you will find many people here that share your beliefs no matter what they are.  We look forward to welcoming you home.

There are some atheists.
There are some Christians (of many different varieties Baptists, Mormons, 'Christian', Universalists, etc etc etc)
There are some Jews.
There are some people who I know and like and have no idea exactly what they believe except that they love liberty.

We are all adventure seeking, anti-socialist, pilgrims in this world.
What do you believe?

There are almost 9,000 Free Staters and all of them are tied together by the fact that they agree with the statement of intent: that the maximum role of civil government is the protection of life, liberty and property.

I, myself, am a Christian.

Welcome aboard!

I think this venture will not get very far without God's help.

Everyone I have met associated with the Free State Project does not probe with fact finding personal questions....rather,  the conversation take off points are about politics, liberty, freedom....or actions that the FSP has allready achieved through focused effort or what everyone (individually or group) is working on now/next.

Adventure?  You bet your life.  What do they believe?  They believe if they move together, in the same geographical region, they they can work and be more effective in gaining more liberty in all our lifetimes.  And if you were to measure the achievements so far, you would find an unprecedented degree of success (but you won't find this reported in mainstream media).

Check out www.ridleyreport.com and listen to Free Talk Live.com for starters.  Or come to the Liberty Forum in March or PorcFest in June (rumor has it, it's going to be at Rogers this year).

What state are in now?  Perhaps there is a local group you can meet up with.

Bottomline..you will not find a more serious group of Liberty Lovers on the planet (we run circles around the libertarian party), who all  march to their own beat...but you have to see it to believe it.

Nah, that's probably the average for the general populace.  If you put two libertarians in a room, you'll probably get at least three opinions, and possibly several more than that...

The unanswered question: what are they giving these many opinions about? A: When they finally escape, what they're going to do to you for putting them in that room ;)
