Hopefully everyone knows that I am a Christian ... otherwise I am doing it wrong. ;)

And this whole time I had you pegged as a devil worshiper.

I'm atheist with pantheist leanings.

Hey Anarchy in your head.com guy!

Could you explain more exactly what you mean by your above comment?  I"m trying to understand Pantheist (you don't believe in a God (s) but....?

Thanks for your explanation!

I see the universe as having inherent characteristics that cause orderly patterns to tend to be persist over chaos and I feel that there is a tendency for order to emerge and move in a certain direction that seems very purposeful. I don't, however, see the universe as being intelligent and alive in a way that's even remotely like human intelligence. The "theist" portion of the word "pantheist" makes me reluctant to use it to describe myself. I see patterns forming out of chaos and I think those patterns, including our minds, are sort of meant to be in a manner that is sort of like destiny or fate. I don't see it as being guided by an omnipotent /omniscient intelligent being and I think to ascribe order to such a being is kind of a cop-out because we have difficulty wrapping our heads around it or describing it in other ways.

I agree with Dale's above description, and when I hear pantheism discussed, it sounds loopy to me. :P So I'd not call myself a pantheist.

I also agree with DavidJames' "I am me" comment, except that I think that might make me him. It's all downhill from there.  :o

Don't know about it being an ism, but I think the use of the derogatory term pansy--with stereotypical lisp, no less!--is in really bad taste . . .
I'm a paronomastic, myself.

I'm an atheist for precisely the same reasons I'm a libertarian.

I am a non-statist, socialist.  ;D

Socialism meaning "labor should be put in possession of it's own capital and get it's just due in the form of the full product of it's toil"

I feel like I am a conservative [ie. govt has zero to a tiny role in our lives].  I love traditions and believe in them -  marriage can only be between a man and a woman.  I don't like diversity in a nation - I want a single official language, and a single religion.  Holy Places of worship to God are good, and toleration of other religions is good.  Hopefully, a God fearing conservative.  Science and God seem to often be at odds.  Frankly, a good scientist would not discount the existence of the Mighty One. It says in the Bible, "Man does not live by bread alone." (Duet 8:3).

Why would a “good scientist” not discount the existence of a god?

Because that would suck if he did discount it.  Why can't there be a God?  You can't prove it, but you can't disprove it either.

Because… it would suck. That is a novel argument, I’ll give you that. ;D
