Who owns your dead body
« on: November 04, 2008, 10:55:21 pm »

This question has been puzzling me. When you die. Who has possession of your body? Your family? The state? The reason I ask is when I die I don't want to be buried in a cemetery. I want to be buried on my family's land. I don't know any of the laws regarding this topic. I just think it's a scam to buy a plot of land and to hire the services of a mortician. It's thousands of dollars wasted on my dead physical remains. Just my opinion though.

A will is a good place to put those kinds of instructions.  It's a good idea to have a will regardless of age.
