haha, I have a feeling that if I go to Keene State University I will be surrounded by a bunch of idiots who just want to party all the time. Don't get me wrong I like to party, but I like to educate myself too.

You must be the student who called into FTL Wednesday.  You sounded pretty down on NH colleges for science and engineering.  Give Dartmouth a serious look.  While they are an Ivy league school more known for business and liberal arts they do have a good computer science program and are worth looking intol.  UNH Durham is pretty much the only other worthwhile school in NH with science and engineering programs but it's not on the level of MIT or RPI which you mentioned.  About 10 miles south of the border UMass Lowell has a decent engineering program, but again it's not MIT or RPI.  I'll also put in a plug for my alma mater, WPI.  Worcester is about 45 minutes from the border and has a fairly good chem eng program.  I think it compares well to RPI although it's enrollment is about 25% smaller than RPI.

Yep.  I didn't have many interactions with him while I was a student there though.

I will be turning 18 in March and my dad said that as his birthday gift to me, he will take me anywhere in the country for a few days. It would be nice to go to the Liberty Forum, but the problem is that my dad is an authoritarian. He rejects all ideas of liberty and sees laws as necessary to have a functioning society. What should I do?

Has your dad taken any of the following...

http://www.theadvocates.org/quizp/index.html - World's Smallest Political Quiz

http://www.quiz2d.com/ - The Enhanced Precision Political Quiz

...and from there determined that he's an authoritarian? If not, he may realize that he's more of a freedom lover then he realizes after taking either of the two. If he has determined that he's an authoritarian, then direct him to one of these sites:
