Wyoming methods are not out of line with those used in other states, as far as I know. Pretty much every state uses machines. Is there something specific about the process used in Wyoming that is different and substandard? In what way are the election laws there "terrible"?

Wyoming's methods are indeed worse than most of the other 10 states. Every state uses machines, but not all the worst types and not in all districts. Yes, Wyoming is different and substandard. A report on the vote counting technologies and election laws in the 10 candidate states will be posted on the FSP website soon. The potential for vote counting fraud is "under the radar" for most porcupines at this time but it should not be.

libertarian40, are you George? If so, I have done some of this elections research for you - I'm Paul!  :)

At any rate, let's see the report before we start flinging around terms like "tragic".  ;)

Ain't no state that's perfect; and anyway, a lot of the warts in each one can be removed. There isn't a huge constituency in most states for a substandard elections process, if in fact it is so.

Yes, I am George.  ;D

Thanks again for your help with the report, Paul.  :)

OK, I won't call it "tragic" again just now, but that is how I feel.  :-\

If this thread has piqued anyone's interest, I would recommend finding out more about vote counting by reading the book "Votescam" by James and Kenneth Collier.

I've sent away for it. Here's where to get it:

There is also an online version:

Looks like NH had a problem with those Shouptronic machines back when George Bush I  was running for president. Do they still have them?

It will be interesting to read that report, please hurry up!  :)

Although I do have some real concerns over voting machines, I'm not sure that any of our states is really worse than the others.  If there is proof out there of "dirty elections" in any of the FSP candidate states, I would sure love to get my hands on it.  I assume the report you guys are putting together touches on this subject?

I ran smack into another strange synchronicity today.  Before reading this thread, I had earlier read a story over at GuerrillaNews.com about voting machine fraud.  It’s a very interesting article.  I would certainly like to learn more about this.

Thankfully, Shouptronic machines are no longer used in New Hampshire.
