The LPNH Welcome to the Granite State Committee is pleased to announce a summer "Escape to New Hampshire" getaway vacation to promote the Free State Project in NH. The event will be open to everyone. The common bond will be an interest in the FSP and an interest in learning more about the benefits and advantages of choosing NH as the free state.
To be held June 21-29, 2003 at Rogers Camping Resort and Motel in Lancaster, NH, the getaway has been designed to be a week of fun, relaxation, information sharing, and new friendships. The Welcome to the Granite State Committee is eager to show off our beautiful state to Free State Project members and just as eager to meet in-staters wishing to learn more about the FSP. We'll be featuring at least one guest speaker from the FSP Board of Directors and LPNH gubernatorial candidate John Babiarz, and are in the process of lining up additional speakers.
We invite freedom-loving people from all over the country to join us for nine days of summer fun and relaxation. Rogers Resort is the largest and best-equipped campground in New Hampshire. There's also a 52-room motel for those who prefer not to camp. Amenities abound at this delightful resort, including: heated swimming pools, hot tub, 400-foot water slide, miniature golf, tennis, shuffleboard, horseshoe pits, playgrounds, softball, volleyball, basketball, a giant game room, grocery store, coffee shop and laundromat.
The resort affords beautiful mountain views, including Mt Washington. Only a few miles away, Weeks State Park has a lookout tower offering 360-degree views of the spectacular White Mountain region. The charming town of Lancaster offers shops, restaurants, a weekend flea market, antique shops and a maple sugar museum. Guests arriving from the south will have the pleasure of driving through the beautiful Franconia Notch State Park and viewing our state symbol: The Old Man of the Mountain.
Theme parks within an hour's drive of Lancaster may appeal to those attending with children: Polar Caves, Storyland, Heritage USA, Santa's Village and Clark's Trading Post. For those who enjoy shopping, tax-free North Conway offers over 200 factory outlet stores and is about an hour's drive from Lancaster.
We'll be planning various events according to popular demand. Possibilities include an event at one of the gun or archery clubs in the area, guided hiking trips for all ability levels, a trip up the Mount Washington auto road, aerial sightseeing tours of the area, fishing, ATV rides, jet skiing, balloon rides, bonfires, fireworks, cocktail parties, a lobster bake and barbecues. Activities will also be available for those with children.
