Airport to Holiday Inn - - transportation options
« on: December 30, 2006, 02:01:48 pm »

If you are attending the Liberty Forum, and are arriving from the Manchester Regional Airport (MHT)
here are some options:

1) Car Rental

2) taxi (fare estimate from Manchester to Concord Holiday Inn, about 25miles, is $45)

3) Shuttle
Flight Line Inc.    (800) 245-2525    (603) 893-8254

Flight Line charges as follows, but reservations must be made 24hr in advance.
1-3 people is $53. so two people traveling is $26.50 each (much better than $45 taxi). three people is $17.60 each!
over 3 people is $53 + $10 (for each additional person), so 4 people would be changed the total of $63, so $15.75, etc, etc.

To take advantage of this, there must be some organization as to when people are arriving. This forum should be the organization mechanism.
I have created time slots. If you are interested in the riding on a shuttle, then please take the initiative and:
   1) reply with which time slot you are arriving
   2) check back in few weeks to see if there are other interested shuttle riders in your slot
   3) e-mail them, or reply here at the and "create" a shuttle. Call Flight Line and arrange a shuttle!  :D

Here are other Manchester/ Concord Shuttle companies.
Hampton Shuttle Inc.    (800) 225-6426    (603) 659-9893
Mermaid Transportation Company    (800) 696-2463    (207) 885-5630
Thomas Transportation Services Inc.    (800) 526-8143    (603) 352-5550

Gee, too bad we couldn't do the shuttling ourselves and saved visitors a ton. I thought about offering but our car won't hold the luggage some people travel with.

I wish I had a passenger van. :(

I am sure as it gets closer they will be able to coordinate even more stuff. :)

Incidentally, I'll be coming into BOS at 7am on Thursday the 22nd (JetBlue 476 from OAK), and will have a rental car. So if anyone wants a free ride up, shoot me a message. Not sure yet if I'll bop around Boston for a few hours or bop around Manchester for a few hours or bop around Nashua for a few hours... Feel free to help me decide. :)

Your car won't even hold some people.  ;D

If we were there, I'd certainly sign up for a volunteer shuttle service. Our van holds six+driver, with luggage, very comfortably.

I may make an MHT airport run on Thursday night and I can hold 5 passengers.

Hmm.  There doesn't seem to be much going on in here.  Guess I'll just take a taxi.   Maybe I could bribe a PORC into taking me back on Sunday?

Some of us could post our phone numbers, for people to call.  I've got no problem running a few people back and forth to Manchester airport.

How long would it take to get to Concord from the Boston airport?  Obviously since it's bigger there are more options for me to get there on Friday night.  But it seems like it would be maybe a 2 hour drive?  If I go to the Manch. Airport I probably won't make it until Sat. morning.

I received better flight times by going into Boston. And, the $220 saved on the tickets pays for my rental car, a tank of gas, and a lunch or two. Drive time should be a couple hours, depending on how many detours I take on my scouting, and traffic. (Traffic doesn't really worry me... I drive in Atlanta every day.)

Whoa.  You're right.  I could save $200 and arrive in Manch. on Friday but leave on Sunday via the Boston Airport!   :)

I know I have a lot of ignorant questions, but - could I rent a car in Manchester and drive it and drop it off at the Boston Airport?

A couple of hours from Boston airport to Concord should cover it .... depending on traffic.
Call one of the rental car places.
You must be in one of those places that doesn't have southwest airlines .... crummy government.
