Performance QA Engineer -

Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing, directing, and monitoring the work of team members, for project completion of performance test efforts and user satisfaction
Develops staff to grow and expand responsibilities
Coordinates and manage test efforts with supplemental staff offshore.
Plans project schedules for multiple projects and make project assignments and coordinate schedules
Maintains status of projects and monitors activities of team members.
Communicates status and escalates issues.
Participates in formal reviews of application designs, business and functional requirements
Review test plans for completeness. Participate in the overall creation of strategic performance test plans based on criticality of application components, application utilization measurements and business workload
projections
Defines and implements Quality Process Improvements focused on defect prevention, improve an aspect of testing or the work environment
Recommends strategies and methods to improve test plans and test process.
Provides technical leadership, mentoring and training to other team members.

Develops Performance QA departmental technical policies and procedures
Provides technical supervision on moderate multiple projects
Identifies opportunities for continuous improvements of development process
Takes a lead role in many team work initiatives for systems and external groups. Works with implementation teams with supervision
Develops strategic partnerships with the business Product Management,
Project Management and Development
Develop and validate the overall performance and capacity models for applications in conjunction with other System Characterization team members
Create performance test scripts for market data applications using Mercury
Interactive's Loadrunner, any other tools, as necessary
Execute and direct the execution of Capacity, Stress, Scalability, and
Performance (response time) tests on application and /or infrastructure
Monitor all impacted systems and components
Measure resource consumption of components and processes and latency at measurable points in the systems under test
Identify application short-comings and bottlenecks, and assist engineers with improving application performance and reducing latency
Communicate performance testing results and identify areas for improvement with stakeholders at all levels
Build and deliver reports that summarize the performance testing results, both one-time and over time during the lifecycle of the applications. The reports will be used by diverse audiences including capacity management, management and the development team 
 
Qualifications
 
Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
7+ years experience in system characterization and in-depth performance testing.
Thorough expertise in performance testing and analysis.
Knowledge of operating systems performance and measurement, network performance
Technical proficiency in several of the following areas is desirable:
Unix/Solaris, Linux, Oracle, C and C++. Unix Scripting languages (Korn Shell, PERL)
Experience with Mercury Interactive's LoadRunner, QTP, SITESCOPE, Performance Center is a plus.
Strong statistical expertise, quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, and presentation of complex data
Excellent interpersonal and person management skills
Excellent writing, communication, and time management skills
