HR Manager & Network Administrator positions at Derry NH Manufacturing

Below are two job postings for Gentex, which is a growing acoustical manufacturing firm in Derry. Gentex does most of their business with the military. In the fall, they will be moving their entire operation to a
larger building on Brown Ave. in Manchester, to support their growing operation.

I contracted at this company a few years back. They are a solid company with great senior management and staff.

TITLE:   Human Resources Manager

JOB SUMMARY: Gentex is currently looking for a Human Resources Manager to join our growing organization at the NH manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will manage the overall Human Resources function for the Electro Acoustic Business Unit of Gentex Corporation.

EDUCATION: B.A/B.S. degree required; SPHR or PHR certification preferred but not required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must have at least 5 years of HR generalist experience in a manufacturing setting.  Candidates must have supervisory experience. Good interpersonal, organizational, problem solving, negotiation, verbal and written communication skills are a must. The individual must be able to multi-task various projects, work well under pressure, and have the ability to work independently. Ability to effectively respond to sensitive issues, complex inquiries or complaints in a timely manner are critical. He or she will be required to maintain confidentially.
The individual must have proficient computer skills. Experience in Infinium/HRIS is preferred.  As a condition of employment, all offers are contingent upon drug and/or alcohol test and background check.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:  Ensures all employment actions are in compliance with applicable laws and company policy; consults with management regarding employee relations matters, employee morale issues, performance, and organizational development; partners with senior level management to solve problems; serves as an advocate in handling employee work-related issues; provides strategy and direction for Company recruitment and hiring practices; responsible for Affirmative Action compliance; coordinates employee benefits enrollments and changes; administers employee leave policies; serves as partner for safety program and committee involvement; administers workers' compensation claims and third party insurance carriers; designs and conducts training;  directs company sponsored events and community service initiatives; collaborates with the corporate office regarding compensation, merit reviews, and other HR issues.
 

TITLE:   Network Administrator

JOB SUMMARY: Gentex is currently looking for a Network Administrator to join our growing organization at the NH manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will manage the Voice and Data systems for the Electro Acoustic Business Unit of Gentex Corporation.

EDUCATION: A.S. /B.S. degree required; MCSE certification preferred but not required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must have at least 5 years of Network Administration experience in a manufacturing setting.  Candidates must have desktop support experience with Windows XP Pro and Office XP, Server experience with Windows 2000/2003 Server, Microsoft Exchange 2003, Active Directory, Group policies, Microsoft SQL Server, and Sun Solaris 9. Knowledge of patch panels/cabling a must. Experience with Nortel Mics 6.0 with Call Pilot Voicemail a plus. Good interpersonal, organizational, problem solving, verbal and written communication skills are a must. The individual must be able to multi-task various projects, work well under pressure, and have the ability to work independently. Ability to effectively
respond to critical issues and complex inquiries in a timely manner is essential. He or she will be required to maintain confidentially. As a condition of employment, all offers are contingent upon drug and/or alcohol test and background check.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:  Ensures the continued health and performance all of the manufacturing information systems. Administrate, support, and document the 125 node LAN w/ WAN currently consisting of MS 2003 Server, 2000 Server, Exchange Server 2003, SQL Server 2000, Solaris 9, and WinXP Pro on the desktop. Collaborate with the Corporate MIS staff on joint projects. Respond to requests for desktop problems, printer problems and Account requests/maintenance.  Ensure nightly backups are done with Veritas BackupExec. Perform periodic updates of applications, and operating systems. Work with existing vendors for new hardware requests, and roll out new systems in a timely manner.  On occasion, new network lines will need to be run. Support existing business databases with MS Access front ends, and MS SQL Server back ends. Publish monthly reports for network usage, and perform periodic audits for policy compliance.

Administrate, support, and document Voice services consisting of Nortel Mics 6.0 with Call Pilot Voicemail.  Currently consists of 60 stations with Faxing. Serviced by a Verizon  flexgrow T1.
