Job 4975-- NETWORK SYSTEM ENGINEER, NH

Requirements and responsibilities           

BS degree and 5-7 years experience as Network Engineer

Responsible for implementation, maintenance, optimization, and problem correction of all aspects of the network environment including server and client PC's, network traffic management, and, in some cases, voice and data telecommunications, and occasional supervision.

Perform technical tasks necessary to prepare a personal computer at the industries latest level of Microsoft file server software.  Currently this is Windows Server 2003.

Install, troubleshoot, and maintain communications gateway hardware and software as well as third party software used to redirect files between network devices and platforms.

Design, monitor, recommend, and coordinate the installation, maintenance, and load balancing of network hubs, interface cards, wiring, and transceivers.

Design, install, upgrade, and construct post office database information.  Maintain and field user problems pertaining to a network resident Electronic-Mail system (EMAIL).  Currently Exchange 2003.

Responsible for technical analysis of various products and price negotiations.

Coordinate and assist in hardware repairs to personal computers and printers.

Install, test, and support general purpose network software including office applications for word processing, spreadsheets, cad, presentation graphics, etc.

Install, test, and support network administrative software including, TCP/IP, SNMP, RMON, X.400, remote communications protocols, gateway communications, terminal emulation, ethernet switching, etc.  Emphasis is on TCP/IP administration. Provide problem analysis and correction, and optimization in both the server
and client environment, with emphasis in the latest industry standard Windows Platform.  Currently, this is Windows XP, 2003 and Microsoft AD.

Provide leadership and supervision in project management; supplying definition, design, direction, guidance, documentation, communication and coordination at the project and task level.

Must participate in rotating On-Call Support schedule, providing off-hour coverage via telephone, modem, and/or on- site as required. Perform other related duties in department as required.
