FWIW, I hope the fireworks show is going to take place off-site.   :'(  Rogers may be our haven, but it is also private property, and the owner is not fond of loud, potentially fire-starting activities that tend to occur after dark.

Janice and I wish to continue the tradition, which Varrin originated and we continued in '05, of leading a Mt. Liberty hike on the Friday (23 June, this time) before Saturday's full day of speakers.

This just sucks.  I missed it last year because I like to drink and am going to miss it this year because I will not be there.

Hey Michael, and this is not at all selfish, really... ::)
Could you lead that on Monday or something?  Most people will be getting there Friday afternoon, (I think) so there will not be many people to go with you.  You know, the activities are after the weekend, this time.  So, if you want a better turnout, I suggest Monday morning.

The hike is definitely on the agenda. ;)  Thanks, Michael.  As for the timing, I'll let you guys duke that out, although I do agree that, with our shift to the full program on the first weekend, turnout is likely to be lower overall for Friday morning.

Yeah, because I got a Myspace Invite to the FSP Porcfest 2006 and it said that it starts at noon on Friday.  Now, maybe it starts before that but I will not be able to be there until after  :(

Interesting.  Well, I didn't do that, but I suppose it's a fine estimate.

Guilty.  I can change it though.

Guilty!  Damn you for doing something!  ;)

I don't think a change is necessary.  We will kick off officially that night, so noon sounds fine.  At this point, I'd encourage Michael and Janice to consider switching the hike to Monday (or another convenient day).  It's pretty popular, and I'd hate for folks to miss it.

Unless some force greater than my own will requires my presence elsewhere, I'll be on the Mt. Liberty hike this year... :)

I'm definitely up for doing some shooting.

I'm coming from Toronto and I'm not sure yet if I'll be bringing my own firearms -- the paperwork for getting them over the border can be a bit daunting.  If there's a club-sponsored "shooting event" that I can get an invitation to (PPC or IPSC event, pistol/rifle match, that kinda thing), then it's easier

Without studying the 2006 schedule, I assumed since Friday has always worked in the past it would be good this time. My oversight--I am so sorry! (I promise to work on my impulse-control problem.)

Unfortunately, we've already booked flights and made other arrangements, consequently rescheduling would not work for us. However, if you wish to schedule a second Mt. Liberty hike on Monday, we won't feel insulted. Since it's a highlight of the Porc Fest, the more Mt. Liberty hikes the merrier. Let the free market work its magic!

I thought about bringing my rifle to do some practice shooting as well, but I seriously don't want to go through the hassle of trying to get it on the plane and all the TSA bs I'd go through.

Though with such libertarian gun laws in NH, I could probably find a gun to use while I'm up there for cheap. How much are ya'll's saturday night specials? $15? :P

I am sure that there will be plenty of firearms for people to shoot.
