Cold weather affecting your decision?
« on: August 07, 2005, 05:49:16 pm »

The cold isn't that bad
-I find the changing of seasons always lifts the spirits. Especially Summer into Fall and Winter into Spring.
-I bet you've never had a white Christmas in Florida or Texas.
-Or sat around the fireplace with good company and good spirits on a cold February night
-The cold makes you appreciate the warm weather and are more likely to enjoy it than to hardly notice it and take it for granted
 Also-
There are no hurricanes or tornados in New Hampshire.

Feel free to add to this

- You can't ski / snowmobile / snowshoe / etc. without cold weather!
- A free day off due to being "snowed in" can be a wonderful thing ;-)
- Making maple syup candy (by boiling pure maple syrup, then pouring it onto fresh snow) is a strictly New England concept.
- Having any excuse to snuggle up closer to your sweetie(s) is a good thing!

And should you accidentally leave your hard cider on the porch, you'll accidentally get a much stronger brew through freeze distillation.  Which would be illegal, of course.  ;)

Excuse me?? Somehow, I think there's a great deal of evidence proving that I can drive in winter, never mind getting my Saturn in and out of a dirt road with cable chains! lol...

If you do not like the four seasons do not move to NH.  I happen to like the snow,  I happen to like fall, summer and spring.  So do not move to NH if you do not like the seasons.

While I absolutely hate the cold, I can adapt. It might take me a month or two, but I'll get used to it.

The only thing that could stop me from moving would be a girl.

True, but - while i'm a pretty easy going person - i really keep to myself and I'm not exactly the type of person who goes out finding friends quickly. If it weren't for my job, I wouldn't know anyone (or have any friends) at all.

Dude, that is totally cool.  You just don't know how easy it is to make friends in NH.  We are in this together and many people would love to help you.  I taked with tons of people at the Porcfest.  People gave me car rides, tons of food and beer, helped me with my firearm, and all types of stuff.  I'm telling you, even Michael Badnarik came up to me and just started talking.  I was able to go to any random campsite at Porcfest and talk to the people for 20min. without anyone seeming the least bit bothered.  You will find that, even if you don't want them, 100s of people will try to be your friend in NH.

Oh, and to be on topic.  No cold weather is not part of the equation for me.  I want freedom and I'm going to NH to get it.

Maybe we can just raise the NH temperature a bit in Winter...oops, maybe not, that would flood the seacoast Porcs.  Oh well, we'll just have to put up with it and have fun anyway.   ;D
