Uhh, yeah, hi! ;)  Go away from the foum for a few days and all sorts of new musicians pop up! ;)

Me:  31, drummer / percussionist since age 3 (sort of), piano since age 5 (*not* professional), play a little bass etc.  Professionally, I've played orchestral percussion, latin percussion, and drums (many styles with a strong emphasis on jazz and latin jazz).  I have a room to play in at home (about 15 x 15 with a baby grand piano).  I *did* try to put together a jam session, but we apparently wern't at critical mass yet.  I've since run into some jazz players in SW NH (playing in Keene) who were enjoyable to sit in with.  Unfortuantely, that gig evaporated.

Anyone who wants to explore playing, let me know.  My schedule's tough, but when I'm off, I've usually got larger blocks of time available and would love to play with other freedom friendly folks.

cherie:  *WAY* cool websites.  Where are you??  I'd *definitely* like to meet you and see your ... shop I presume?

JonathanLeModern:  I've been contemplating opening some sort of musical venue in Keene (a jazz cafe / bar is my preference), but that's down the road for me... unless.... someone else is willing to jump in, too ;)

I would like to know how many classical musicians are out there that are FSPers and Libertarian.

Let me know.  Would like to start a Chamber Music Group.

Well, I'm your huckleberry (at least one of four or more...)!  Violin since age 8, played both violin and viola in chamber groups at Indiana University back in the 70's.  Used to build harpsichords and can play fairly well.  Over the years it's been sporadic, but have done community orchestras off and on.  Not Big L Libertarian, in fact find myself leaning more anarcho-capitalist the more I hang around FSPers...

I definitely envision lots of FSP-made music of all kinds, and want to contribute as much as I can.  Not in NH yet, but maybe soon.  At the least, we should plan on doing a gig at PorcFest next year.  We could perhaps do a classical "FSP Highbrow Evening"... ;)

How 'bout a talent show? ;)  I'm kinda partial to jazz, though if you need a percussionist for your classical gig, I'm in.. ;)

Excellent Varrin!  "We need timpani, we need many timpani(i)!!"  (however you plural an already plural...)  ;D

Let's make some NOISE!
Nik

P.S.  On a slightly more serious 'note', I can do jazz as well (probably play bass or if you go Latin, accordion...)

Well then, you shall!  I really enjoy the Tango (both playing and dancing), but that's the problem...I remember one hot summer evening years ago, playing "Choclo", and wishing instead I was dancing with a certain dark-haired beauty... ah well, the musician unfortunately must sometimes experience vicariously... :'(

Agreed.  There was singing and guitar action every night at the campsites during PorcFest this year.  I also met several musicians at PorcFest that didn't bring their axes, but hopefully will next year (including me).  Don't worry Phil, if you built it, they will come... ;)

"I guess we do not have any other musicians"

Bass player here:

1984 G&L bass (stock)
1968 Ampeg 50 watt head (stock, restored)
1945 Operadio 100 watt head (restored and slightly modified)
1971 Kustom halfstack cabinet (1 x 15, black)
mid-1970's Kustom fullstack cabinet (3 x 15, blue sparkle)

I write and play old-school metal, doom, stoner rock, whatever people are calling the good old fashioned kickass rock and roll these days (you know, screaming Gibsons, cranked-up Marshalls, and single-kick drummers....THAT kind of rock and roll).  All the bands I've ever been in have been metal or punk bands.  No, my wife and I are not in NH yet.....we hope to undertake a property-scouting mission in the spring.....

Yours Truly,
RM's husband

PS-  NO!!!  None of my vintage gear is for sale at any price!  Don't even ask.....
