I live in TN. The largest city in my state is D. However, over 55% of the people outside of that city are R or other. Because Memphis is so big the entire state is D (in state politics, Gov, both houses, and S. Court). The only D state near TN is D for the exact same reason. GA is a D state because Atlanta is a D city.
The Rinos and D that control TN just raised 3 sales taxes (including the state sales tax by 15%) and 1 corporate tax. The politicans are also going to raise taxes again within a couple of years. TN has statewide socialized med. in the form of Tenncare, which is destroying the state. 1/8-1/4 of TN is on Tenncare.
I want to leave TN because I want to leave this D state for one with more Libertarians, R, lower taxes (even though TN is in the bottom 5 in the nation WY and AK still have lower taxes), more gun freedom, and cheaper land. I want to be in a state that is very close to large cities but actually has no large cities. Large cities are centers for authoritarians and socialists. Often times, R become centrists or authoritarian in large cities. Looks at the federal R from AZ, NJ, and NY, all three states have very large urban centers.
WY, MT, ID, and SD fit this bill.
I fell that ID has too large a population and is growing far to rapidly, though. MT is a somewhat far drive from large cities. Both MT and ID have higher taxes then TN, though. SD and MT are a little too cold and have quite strong D or Greens. SD is also very windy, and someone thought WY was windy.
I also like NH but it has a large population, is growing quickly, near all liberal states, kind of cold, and has high land and corporate taxes.
Because WY is near the bottom in taxes, has the cheapest land, is the 3rd warmest of all 10 FSP choices (I'm from TN), is very close to several good sized cities and a couple large cities, has no large liberal centers (cities), strong Libertarian and R, and better gun laws then TN (a lot of states do) it fits me best.
Also, I talked with by brother and he wants to move with me and we both want to have a personal ranch within 30min from Cheyenne.
