(snip)
Here's WAVE-TV's article on it:

Dada, thanks for doing this! One favor... could you not reference the WAVE-TV article? They're painting us as a bunch of crazy potheads. Randall toldme that he talked about a lot more issues than the drug reform one, and he was somewhat irritated that they honed in on drug reform with him. He felt they were attempting to smear him. He says that in the future he plans to talk about libertarianism more generally, and will avoid focusing on some of the more specific controversial issues. (Not that he will ignore those issues, but he will speak about them in general terms.) I told him that I was glad he learned that lesson about the media when he was starting out in KY rather than learning it when he crossed the border into NH. :)

SO... the press release will be out tomorrow, and it's probably best to distribute the press release rather than sending around the "pothead article." Thanks. :)

Absolutely ...

Amanda, Kat Dillon asked that if she gets companies to sponsor Randall, can we find a place on the FSP website to give them logo/sponsorship space?  Something tasteful and not immense, but reasonable recognition?  A sponsorship page?

I figure they would get that for a donation of $100 or more ... what do you think?

And we worked this out offline -- I'm just posting the info here:

under $100 = a mention in the Quill
$100-$499 = a mention in the Quill + a mention on the website on Randall's page
$500 or more = a mention in the Quill + a mention on the website on Randall's page + a logo on Randall (hat, t-shirt, etc)

Go get 'em!!

Sure!  Although I do think the more controversial we sound the more coverage we will get.   So I don't think it's all bad to have WAVE sensationalizing us.

Hmm... good point. Trade-offs, as always. Ugh.
