Tax Audits: Bring a Free Stater along?
« on: April 03, 2004, 03:56:19 pm »

I understand that if you get audited by the IRS you're allowed to bring a witness or two along.  Maybe we Free Staters should bring another Free Stater along if we have to appear for an audit.   Any thoughts on how this would work?  Can you bring audio or video recorders with you when you appear for the audit?  What are audits like?  Does the person or persons tagging along have to show I.D. or what not, or otherwise give their identity?

Also if they don't let the witness in for some reason you might be able to make a media stink of some kind or do a protest outside the building.  Maybe it's time we started acting a like a nonviolent resistence movement and less like a discussion group.

Anyway if I get audited the local Porcupine group where I live can expect a request for help, and if a local Porcupine in my area wants a tag-along I see no reason why I wouldn't be able to do it.

Other ideas and thoughts related to this kind of thing?
