Job Opening: Professional Sales Manager, Southern NH
« on: January 09, 2004, 08:43:09 pm »

Position:  Professional Sales Manager

Company:  Synchromesh Computing and the EEMBC Certification Laboratory, LLC (twin companies, same management)

Location:  Southern New Hampshire

Territory:  Calling on accounts in Mass (Boston, Route 128, 495, high technology companies) and New Hampshire, possibly including Portland, ME

Products/Services:  You would be selling high technology software services to semiconductor, system, board-level, and software companies.  See http://www.synchromeshcomputing.com and http://www.ebenchmarks.com for more information.

Position_Details:  5 year old successful high technology company, zero debt, profitable since Day 1, is expanding into New Hampshire as part of the Free State Project migration.  One of our first steps is to hire a Sales Manager and establish a presence "branch office" in NH.  As such, you will be calling on accounts throughout New England, but lets face it:  most of your prospects will be in Boston, and that means you would commute part of your week to/from Mass.  Face time equals closed sales, as you know.

Our services are highly-respected.  In benchmarking processors, compilers, and systems, we ARE the world's leaders - and we certify the benchmark scores for EEMBC, the industry-standard consortium.  In software development (embedded especially), software testing, product analysis, and competitive analysis, we are amongst the best in the world and arguably the best at complicated software such as compilers (software toolchains) and operating systems.  Because we have more experience with more software tools than anyone else on Earth, and because we see more embedded systems / processors / DSP's than anyone else, our market savvy and intelligence is respected and coveted, so we also offer strategic consulting and technology due diligence.  All of these services have track records and are part of our standard portfolio.  We also have Joint Marketing Agreements with Fuld & Company (world leaders in Competitive Intelligence) and other companies, ALL of which you can sell as well - and sell profitably.

Marketing tools:  We offer the usual:  business cards, brochures, Powerpoint slides and presentations, and will co-develop with you target prospect lists.  If there is a sales tool that you need, lets talk about it.

Requirements and Environment:  You must have a proven track record at selling, preferably high-level intangible services.  Moreover, you must have knowledge of the embedded computing industry, and have at least some experience calling on accounts.  We believe in consultative Ziglar/Hopkins type selling ("win-win"), and typically our sales cycles are about 1-2 months between initial approach and closing.   Sometimes it goes a lot faster, and with your marketing experience we hope to shave weeks off the sales cycle.    We generally under-promise and over-deliver, and we will back you up with proven, experienced Sales Engineering / Field Application Sales information so you're not hung out to dry promising that which can't be done.  Your individual reputation is important to us, and in turn we expect you to treat our stellar reputation for honesty, technical excellence, and insights as a treasure, too.  A college degree is preferred, but if you're a genius who dropped out because college was too slow for you, give us a ring.  B.S.-Marketing Management or B.S.-Sales gets bonus points, as does proof that you have invested in your own career by taking sales training courses.  Being organized and systematic in your approach goes without saying, and you can't be afraid to answer the phones and forward to the Home Office, either.

Compensation:  Subject to negotiation, but we believe a salary plus commission is appropriate.  The upside will be substantial.  We will not cap your commissions.  If our Sales Person in the Northeast is not one of our highest paid people within 6 months to a year, something is wrong.   ;)   Another approach might be "start part time, full commish, and we'll take it from there."  In other words, we don't have preconceived notions about this - but we DO have some very good ideas on paying for performance.   Car allowance is possible.

If you can't sell, can't generate leads, can't represent us, or can't close, please don't waste our time, or yours.

Terms:  Initially independent contractor, then subject to mutual desires.  We would like to build our Northeast / East Coast office around you, but we will NOT limit you - if there is business in London, or Milan, or Toulouse, lets go for it.

Contact:  Send your resume with complete confidence in our discretion to:  inquiry@ebenchmarks.com, along with a description of why you think you can take us to the next level and beyond.

(ECL and Synchromesh Computing are equal opportunity employers, though not because the Feral Gooferment says so.   ;D  We are because we want the best talent, period.  We are a Bill of Rights Company, and only discriminate based on talent, desire, ability, and the will to win.
