Like Walt Whitman?
« on: September 10, 2002, 09:37:42 pm »

I joined about a month ago and have been lurking about the message boards for awhile now.  I just found this poem in Leaves of Grass and thought I'd share it with everyone.

This probably isn't the right forum for this but whatever... It's a free state!

To The States
To the States or any one of them, or any city of the States, Resist much, obey little,
Once unquestioning obedience, once fully enslaved,
Once fully enslaved, no nation, state, city of this earth, ever afterward resumes its liberty.

Anyways, just thought I'd share.
