How is NH for natural health and coin shops?
« on: January 03, 2013, 11:56:45 pm »

I am really into natural health stuff and tried to get a job here in New Jersey at a supplement store, but they werent hiring. Does NH have much in the way of a natural health store or organics stores, coops, etc? I know Vermont has a good amount. Also, are they clustered in any city or spread out? Like in New Jersey, they are clustered around Princeton it seems. In Washington, its Seattle. In Alberta, its Edmonton. etc..

I imagine coin shops are pretty big in NH, especially now. I think I once read that a lot of places will accept silver as payment. Are coin shops very prevalent? I have a good deal of experience in collectibles like stamps and coins and am fairly knowledgeable about coins, enough that I know what to look for. Ive read the past few years that coin dealers have been overworked, so I was hoping to try to see if I could get a job with one, but there arent really any in my area. Any insight on this?

In my travels I found a great one in Portsmouth (http://www.portsmouthhealthfood.com/retailer/store_templates/shell_id_1.asp?storeID=3AF4B77695E54E81A7D3690F43CBC12B)

which is as close to the one I maintain now as a tier #4 option on long island http://www.cornucopiahealthfoods.com/retailer/store_templates/shell_id_1.asp?storeID=5BD3AFD60D9E43D589DD2200606FC9E6

I also found another one in Lebanon NH here http://lebanonhealthfoodstore.com/ but I have not visited it yet. Probably next weekend.

Blue moon in Exeter once a upon a time was a great resource, however it has since turned into a fantastic restaurant http://www.bluemoonevolution.com/ which like MT's in Nashua have become frequent stops. Some other options are here: http://www.nhfarmtorestaurant.com/restaurant-certified-local-progra/certified-restaurants/

Here is another list of health food stores: http://www.organicstorelocator.com/all-new-hampshire.html

I am also very interested on local options for precious metals, however don't know of any in NH yet.

I am really glad to find others like yourself enthusiastic enough about these things to make a career out of it, quite frankly opening up my own health food store / cafe is something that continues to dance amongst my subconscious.

Anyways if anyone finds anymore I would love to add them to the map.
