Operations Manager - Belmont

The Operations Manager provides direct oversight and management in an operational organization to include production processes encompassing a mix of outsourced contract manufacturing and internal production. This position will manage the execution of a lean, efficient operations team to include Production, Test, Purchasing, Supply Line Management, Shipping, Quality, EH&S, Repair Services, IT and Facilities. This role will report to the Division Director/GM.

Responsibilities:

    Formulate short and long-term strategy relative to cost reduction, quality improvement, on time delivery, capacity planning, inventory management, new product launch and achievement of financial goals
    Ensure Operations Functional ownership for development and continual improvement of the Operations NPI deliverables, policies and procedures related to our Product Development Process (RPD)
    Be the conduit between our organization and our global CM’s, manage the NPI program ensuring successful business relationships
    Develop business processes to manage supplier partnerships that positively contribute to the efficiency of the Supply Chain and new product launches
    Establish new relationships with Contract Manufacturers as well as in house production for optimized efficiency and costs
    Drive breakthrough operational performance improvements utilizing principles and practices of Lean Six Sigma and Kaizen while ensuring customer satisfaction with high quality products delivered on-time
    Achieve optimum employee levels with least amount of overhead and raw material costs to meet annual production plan
    Design and maintain metrics driven executive dashboards to gage the success of the Operations team and identify possible risks
    Oversee and maintain the compliance of the Quality management Systems to include 6 Sigma/Lean and ISO9001 ISO14001
    Integrate with other functional groups R&D, Marketing, Customer and Sales Support to help create and implement strategic goals that are designed to grow the business
    Represent Operations on divisional product roadmap committee for future product direction and decisions

Skills/Requirements

 Requirements:

    A minimum of a BS in engineering or business,  (MS/MBA preferred)
    15 years of experience in Manufacturing w/ 7-10 years in a management role
    Demonstrated success in LEAN & Six Sigma methodology highly desirable
    Excellent communication (written and verbal) and solid interpersonal skills; uses appropriate levels of energy to create enthusiasm
    Strong Computer skills including Excel, Oracle experience preferred
    Possess team building skills and be able to function well and lead in environments of uncertainty
    Ability to take ownership and drive change

Strong analytical, problem solving, and business communication skills
