Worth The Effort [Book Notes]
« on: March 20, 2007, 06:20:09 pm »

The book was donated by a patron to my local library [Riverhead Free Library, Riverhead, NY]

Although the heavy volume might frighten many who don't like to read thick non-fiction books, I urge them to at least give it a shot.

The book: "Radicals for Capitalism: a Freewheeling History of the Modern American Libertarian Movement"

Mentioned towards the end of the book:

The Foundation for Economic Education [FEE]
The Free State Project
John Stossel's treatment after his 'conversion' to the movement
The Institute for Justice and the Kelo eminent domain case
Bureaucrash
...and a host of other activists, big name and small, still working towards the goal of liberty.

The author Brian Doherty takes a look at the movement from its pre-Randian beginnings up until the present. It's a current release - 2007. Very interesting.
