Title: Question about Women at PorcFest
Post by: rankeen on February 28, 2005, 09:04:51 pm
I would like to know if any "marryable"  women usually attend PorcFest? I've heard everything from hot honeybunny's to "Velma" look-a-likes attend, and everything in between. Are the women high quality? Just for the record I am looking to get married, so I'm always on the look out for high quality women who want to get married and have babies. Just curious, so please don't flame. Rational responses encouraged. thx

Rankeen

You're looking for a rational answer to this question?
There has been only one Porcfest, and, I'm sure there were women who meet your criteria there, just as there are in every community on earth, including, yours.
However, a questionaire is not required and these women are not wearing signs.  Just like where you live.

Just as I thought, you couldn't resist with your passive aggressive flame attack. You live up to your reputation as an arrogant rude flamer.

What I WAS asking is, since people on this board have been to the first PorcFest, what were the women like. Your response is to attack me: "However, a questionnaire is not required and these women are not wearing signs.  Just like where you live."

VERY constructive and rational. You must be a joy to live with.  ::)

Coming to our third PorcFest, to celebrate the start of our third year together.

Hardy's post reminded me that although they don't meet your criteria, many of the 'taken' women are fun to be around, and, worth the price of admission.
Maybe some of them got sisters!

Rankeen,

Having been married for coming up on 13 years, I'm going to offer you some free advice.  It might be worth what you pay for it, but I hope you accept it in the spirit in which it's offered.

Using terms like "hot honeybunny's" and "'Velma' look-a-likes," and talking about "high quality" is a sure way to alienate any woman, no matter what they look like.

I'll let you in on a little secret: every woman worth talking to for more than five minutes, let alone marrying and having a family with, either openly or secretly identifies with Miss Velma Dinkley (http://www.velmadinkley.com/hub.html).

Velma was the brains of the operation, smarter than the rest of 'em put together, but not prideful or arrogant.  Feisty and self-assured, but not insufferable or bitchy.  Not a supermodel, but still cute and feminine.

Women who bash or disdain Velma are likely to be self-absorbed, narcissistic, and judgemental.  While they may fit the leggy "Daphne" archetype in appearance, are also likely to be shallow and in the end, boring, and not the kind of person you want to live with for the rest of your life.

Using Velma as the low end of your scale has undoubtedly set you up for a true-life re-enactment of the Joe Nichols "What's a Guy Gotta Do" music video among any single Free State woman who reads this thread - "Oh, you're Rankeen?  How nice to meet you!  Oh gee, look at the time, gotta go!"

Next, I recommend that you contemplate these images for a spell:

(http://www.ebaumsworld.com/images/applegate2.jpg) (http://www.ebaumsworld.com/images/applegate1.jpg)

The left side is fantasy and fiction, the right side is reality.

It's far better to come to grips with this reality before you get married to a woman you've never seen without makeup, than to wake up next to her a year later to discover the precious and essential human reality, shared by every man who has ever been married in the history of the world - that there is, and always will be, a crusty-eyed, foul-breathed Medusa looking back at you.

Among those of us who have been married for a good many years, these are the women who we treasure and adore above all else in this world, and we thank God for every morning, and every day, we are granted the privelege of their company.

The gal with the bullwhip doesn't *quite* meet his criteria, for although she is poly, she's married w/munchkins already... I am one of those few elusive single gals (and there are enough pics of me floating about that can vouch for my *quality* (Harumph!), but people kept assuming that I was dating whichever single male I happened to be talking to at the time... Razzm-frazzm porcupines trying to nudge the decidedly single into relationships... Arrgh! So there were likely various other gals there, like myself, that people assumed were partnered merely based on their proximity to someone of the male gender... Silly assumptions!

Lol... Dave'd be the biggest polygamist I know in that case! So, in a similar vein, I must've been dating all the gals I danced with in the dance hall... there were extremely few fellows wandering up to dance either (must've all been drinking around campfires!)

Rankeen, I will personally talk to the Porcupine leadership to make sure that there are at least  a half-dozen or so women in burkhas at the Festival in keeping with the FSP philosophy of
encouraging pure, unadulterated dialogue between members of the opposite sex. :)

Geez, Rankeen, do you actually think the other single guys would let you know if there were women available anywhere? Do your own research and recruitment.

I hereby declare that every single libertarian guy has to recruit at least one girl of the three they need to win the Golden Porcupine (even you gay guys).

At Mary Kay conventions, the consultants wear alllll sorts of badges, stickers, pins, ribbons, etc., denoting various parts of their 'status'.  Got a buck says we could do that at Porc Fest and most people wouldn't participate.  Darn libertarians!!! ;)

In some conferences I've been to, there's been little stickers for name tags indicating one's membership in various special interest groups, such as Solaris vs. HP/UX vs. IBM specialists, database admins, etc.  Perhaps the same concept could work here.

Well, I intend on wearing a "Polly-the-Parrot" button (polyamory), but figure that I'll leave my +2 button-mail at home ;-) lol! Anyway, if anyone is looking for the parrot buttons, and see someone with them, ask, they may have some, or I'll be there on the last Fri/Sat. Maybe it'll help! lol...

Short for "polyamory", which indicates a preference for relationships featuring more than two individuals.  When marriage is involved, it's called polygamy, which many folks confuse with polygyny (one male, more than one female) since that's been the most common in western history, but there is also polyandry (one female, more than one male) that has been practiced by several cultures (and some while back, me personally for six years).  No set names for multiples of both genders or same-gender groupings.

Deer flies seem to be attracted to the bobbing heads and backs of swimmers, for some reason. Just be happy you don't run into horse flies. These big files are annoying, but the big flies aren't as annoying as the small ones: black flies and no-see-ums. I'm glad to see we have scheduled the fest later in the year. The flies and mosquitos will be less of an issue.

I did not know that Fly and Mosquito's were an issue last year.

Usually I am the first one to get bit. I was fine, course it might have been the blood alcohol content that kept them away.

Josie (and other ladies):

Hug Dave.

P.S.  Dave, I've tried impressing a few women with that pocket survival tool you gave me, but no luck yet.  Oh well, at least I can open their beers with it.   ;D  Damn, I can't wait until I'm in NH again!  I'd come tomorrow, but wait, I've got to save my money so I can actually MOVE!   :)  I haven't said this out loud in a while, but here goes: KENTUCKY IS A STATIST HELL!!!!!!  LIVE FREE OR DIE, Y'ALL!!!!!!!  LIVE FREE OR DIE!!!!!!!
