Does anybody here have any ideas for becomming a Resident in less than 1 year?
I'm a College student and -if I head to NH- would like to bypass the 1 year wait.

There is no residency clause for voting - Justin and Virginia Somma voted about 10 days after arriving in NH. You just need to have a perm residence here, which you are to live in more than 1/2 the year (IIRC).

I think that the point of the original poster was to qualify for subsidized "in-state" tuition rates at a government-sponsored institution of higher education, rather than at the higher "out of state" rate. (The out of state students' tuition often subsidizes the in-state students.)
Let's not debate the merit of accepting government handouts that are offered.
As a practical matter though, if the state has "in-state" tuition, they probably don't have any good loopholes in the law. So, how about moving to the state and working for a year to save up for college? It is much easier than working while going to college.

If this was California, you could just say you were an illegal immigrant and don't have any paperwork, and they'd give you the in-state rate. It probably helps out there if you can barely speak English too. ::)
