It's a bit more than that.  That's just what the NHLF needed the FSP to guarantee.

See Ian? I always said, you have what it takes to directly help pare down government!
I am being serious ... if you have the gumption to read the FSP meeting minutes, you have what it takes to keep NH Free. Be sure and go on an NHLA (http://nhliberty.org) field trip for at least one morning when you're in NH.

Anyway, IMO the total we're paying for Stossel would be worth it just for the Speaker's fee, because of the credibility and visibility he brings to the FSP. The most common response I see to my "Victories '06 (http://freestateblogs.net/victories06)" page in blogposts and forums around the web is, "maybe that FSP idea isn't crazy after all".... Stossel will definitely take that sentiment to the next level. But what's way more valuable even than that, is that he's agreed to let us take video, and use it for FSP promotional materials (FSP DVDs, Torrents, Google Video, the whole 9 yards)

With all of the "real patriots" available to speak for travel expenses, why would a "Free State" start off by bribing media types to speak at their affairs?

I am readying my move out of Connecticut and to NH.
I am finished with Government, the Bush and Clinton traitors, the new laws, patriot's Acts, Military Commissions Act, etc etc, but it concerns me a great deal when money is the draw, rather then a love for this nation as a Republic.

Does the FSP really need this man that badly?

Yes, he's an outspoken man who seems to be for much of what America was meant to be, but this thing just dosen't seem right to me in the least.

Great point.  This has been covered a little here and a little there.  On NHfree there were a couple good points about this.

If you start here and read the 1st 4 posts, you should get a few good reasons, http://forum.soulawakenings.com/index.php?topic=4937.msg98119#msg98119

Also, John is the most well known libertarian in the world.  He is a regular in TV, newspapers, and internet news sities throught America and including such places as the Manchester Union Leader.  He is pretty much the biggest speaker in the pro-freedom movement and hardly charges a thing for his speeches.  A true American hero.

You could always organize your own event and invite a bunch of no-names.  Should be interesting to compare ticket sales.    ::)

Yes, he does.  How are we going to manifest our relationship with him for recruiting and how/when will we realize some results?  If we do.

He interviewed Varrin and Jason, and the FSP has full rights to that video.

Is anything being done with it? I'm not busting your chops, because I'm in no position to do anything with the video. I'm just anxious to see some of it hit the airwaves and/or internet.
