Hello-

Well, this is my first message on this board.  I just recently signed up, I think I was number 6140.  I am writing quickly so my grammar may no be up to par. Anyway, after reading the boards i noticed that many of our members are moving into the more urban areas in southern NH, an more towards the eastern side towards Boston. This shows me that many of our member want to be within a stones throw of jobs and creature comforts.  Also, this may be due to the demographics of our members.  Most of us being young still would like to be in the thick of things.

What am i getting at you ask?  THE PROBLEM:

The pictures of New Hampshire on the start of the web page are truely bleak.  The first picture is of a desolute slush covered country road.  Leading to where? I don't care enough to find out.
The second picture is of a cold looking day by the embankment of a rotting covered bridge in the middle of nowhere.  I believe there is another one with the theme of:  COME HERE THERE ISN'T SH*T TO DO BUT BE ALONE AND SECLUDED!  However, there a picture of a solitary house among beautiful autum trees.  This picture is really the only one I like because i shows a modern house in a beautiful landscape and pleanty of land.  It also looks as if somewhere nearby there may be someone to talk to or at least a resturaunt.

SOLUTION:

1.  Many of us with libertarian-like view points already feel hopeless alone in this world of Neo Cons and Statist, and don't need the first thing we see on this website to reiterate that to us in a truely bleak form.  I believe that at least one of the pictures should include a town or city.  This will give that lonely libertarian(RLC, etc.) that we are trying to build a community here and that like minded individual DO EXIST and this is YOUR chance to join US.  I know: here comes Jonny come lately trying to change things on our website!  However, every time I come to the website i see that picture and feel a little down.

2.  Many people express fears of the cold weather in NH.  What to we do?  SHOW AT LEAST 3 of the 4 picture with snow!  I mean come on.  Lets narrow that down to one.  My vision of snow is only what i get here in Indiana.  That is sluth/sleet incrusted roads, nothing to do (no hills), and cold as B*lls.  However, with hills and ponds there is pleanty to do when it snows.  I think the picture with snow should have a person on a snow mobile or a person skiing or plalying hockey!  See, fun stuff! Grin.  People will learn to love the snow once they move, so no need to shove it down there throats before hand.

3.  One last picture should be of people sunning themselves on Hampton Beach.  THis is important because many people do not know that NH has a coast line, much less one that you can use in the summer time to soak up some rays!  It also shows the variety of the different seasons in NH.  YEA!

THese are just some ideas to BRIGHTEN up the web page and make NH look welcoming, and to get that fire burning in people that there is a community of like minded people all they have to do is join!

Hey partner...I'm with you on that...Been in NH since Feb 2, and haven't been snowed in once.  Don't usually look at that stuff, but if that is what you see, thinking command central needs to make a bit of a change! Smiley  NH is a really beautiful state, and honest it doesn't snow here year round!

Hey Adam, Tom?  Makes sense to me! Wink

I think it's a good suggestion. Look for some minor changes shortly then some major changes within the next couple of months.

Thanks!
