There's a regular Monday "libertarian" meet-up in Hillcrest that I started attending a couple of weeks ago, which has been a good outlet for me.  Although if the Los Angeles and San Diego groups want to get together for more potential participants, perhaps Orange County might be a good middle ground. Smiley

You mean Sunday? If so, Cafe Libertalia came at just the right moment. I made a point of going there several times this past summer before I moved out here at the end of last month. Their movie night is great, and it's a cool place to meet for fun or profit while supporting a pro-liberty biz.

Yes, it's Cafe Libertalia, but they're doing libertarian meetups on Mondays.  (Movie night is still Sunday.)  It's about 35 miles from home, so I can only justify it one night a week, but I expect if I lived closer, I'd be hanging out there more often and giving them more business.

OK the Monday Meetups must be new. Have you ever been to the SDLP monthly dinner meeting @ Elija's in La Jolla? It would be a little closer to you, and a lot of the cool people that co to Libertalia also go to that one. About 50% of them are lame debatatarians, and the other half are active people, a few of whom are free staters.

Well I certainly don't have time to chase people down. But for those who are interested I am thinking of starting a meetup group in my area. I am in Los Angeles though, not San Diego.

I might be able to help you chase some people down....Smiley

Give me until Wed and I will email you and see what I can do.

I handed out about 100 FTL flyers yesterday in Venice and about 100 FSP flyers.
I fly back from LA tonight.

I'm currently in Long Beach, CA, but will be flying out to NYC tonight to catch a ship.  Obviously, I'll be recruiting folks along the way, but for freedom folk who haven't made the move, yet, I will be plugging away at jeffersonforum.net/forum  That is now up and running, and is available as a recruiting tool for the NH effort...

Glen, if you feel like writing up a story about your experiences (what you expected, how it was different or the same than what you expected, tips, how you feel about the move, etc), I'll post it to the "we made the move" section.

Looks like the CA pace is beginning to pick up! This is good news. The down side is of course that the surge is being spurred by an increase in CA statism, but at this rate, we'll be able to reverse that sooner rather than later. 8-)

I've created a meetup group for Los Angeles FSP members and supporters to meet and socialize. Please consider joining if you'd like to meet up.  Smiley

I got no damn idea.  I left Los Angeles for the last time in 1989 (well, I visited briefly for the 1996 Worldcon), spent a couple years in San Jose, but wound up in the NYC metro area early '92.  Been here ever since aside from LRT conclaves and Porcfests.  But I first left first at 15 in 1970 to live with my grandmother in New Hampshire for a few years them was dumb enough to leave for warmer climes for college and the USAF put me back in California.

As far as I can figure, anybody who's tried to organize Porcs in southern California either dropped out or moved as soon as they could.

There was a fairly active group, at one point.  They were even talking about a Free City Project, for those who couldn't make it to N'Hampsha, within commuting distance for so many SoCal folks.

I guess it is up to you.
Sometime Kat could drop by and be a guest speaker for the group and represent the radical wings of the FSP movement. Smiley
