Nope, because out here they actually have the power to throw you in jail if you do so, rather than just give you a condescending and annoying lecture as in New Hampshire.

Varrin, thanks for the pics, and the report. I'm amazed that so many FSP movers and shakers spend so much time traveling the country. We drove 284 miles today picking up our travel trailer, and feel like we've been whipped.

Thanks go to Mike for the pics.

And it's not just the country...  If there were a Taiwan local group meeting, I'd be there today... Wink

Didn't see this thread.  I'm the "blake" referenced in the picture (the one w/ the broken collarbone).  Technically my name isn't Blake, but that's pretty close  Grin

I'm looking forward to moving to NH.

Next week I'm flying to shanghai.  I'll be in asia for about a month.

It's that time again!  The Norcal group will be meeting for drinks and appetizers in SF on Sunday afternoon.  If you're within a reasonable distance, please join us!

wow looks like a long time without activity in Northern California, is there any way that a recent joining member of the FSP can rev some support back up in the San Francisco area?

Sure... (many of us have moved already to NH)

There is a local group mailing list that you may want to join... and then send some emails out to get people out and active.

Would be great to get NorCal back in action.

Does anyone reading this want to assume the privilege and responsibility of being a local group head for some or all or Norcal? Morey Straus used to be the organizer, but he moved to NH in Sept (?) and has been AWOL, at least as far as I've heard, since then. It would be cool if we had a SF area group at the very least. I encourage any and all kinds or formal or informal get-togethers. Please contact me and we can chat if you have any ideas. I started my own group (actually restarted an existing one), so I know what it is like. But I have absolutely no respect for people that say that liberty is "hella sick"!

I was raised in socal, so don't take it personally (I was just kidding)! 8-)

yeah sure thing, I'd be completely willing to pick up the torch and run with it, I'm a college student so I won't be moving at least until I graduate so I can man the fort for a few years, but only if there are some people actually interested in the San Francisco area

Dear DiZarillo,

I'm in San Francisco. Please include me in any local FSP meetings you organize.

I'll be at PF2007. See you there?

Thanks, Michael

I'll be at PF, and my LG (one of two actually) is down in San Diego. Mike wants to get started, and I'll give him some tips to get started. The #1 cardinal rule, IMHO, is to strike while the iron is hot! Don't put off till tomorrow what you can do today, or it might not ever happen.

Are you all going to be attending some of the leadership seminars? I will be at at least half of them.

Dear PowerPenguin

I won't be able to make it to the seminars. However, my wife and I will be leading the Mt. Liberty hike on Fri. Will you join us?

Best, Michael

I thought they were doing a different mountain this year... Anyway, yes, I plan on doing that. Have you reserved a campsite yet? I'll be with one other person (one tent), and we're looking to share a site with someone to save space/$.

Glad you'll be joining us! Check the schedule to see if other hikes are planned.

Thanks for the kind invitation. We have reservations at the Gunstock Inn down the road.
