I live in a profoundly Republican neighborhood, and have wanted for a long time to have a bumper sticker that says:
STOP SPENDING, GEORGE!

Kat, not sure if I've told you this personally, but seriously, I appreciate - as well as all of the others - you taking the initiative and setting all of this stuff up. Thanks, again, for sticking up for me on the forums; didn't know you felt that way, but yeah, thanks It doesn't look like I'll be doing a flipping thing this Sunday, so expect me there...the discussions should be interesting.

The Dallas-Fort Worth FSP group will be holding an anti-tax demonstration on April 15th, starting at 6:30 PM at the Bulk Mail Center in Dallas. We'll be handing out FSP literature to disgruntled taxpayers and generally making a spectacle for the media. If you can, print out fliers to hand out from here: http://freestateproject.org/getinvolved/downloads/index.jspDallas BMC 2400 DFW Turnpike Dallas TX 75398-9998 Directions: North/South: I-35 to Hampton Road exit; merge left. At intersection, turn left under the expressway. The BMC is on the right. East/West: I-30 to Hampton Road exit. Same as above.

04/04/04 Meeting Notes Discussed was the upcoming tax day protest (6:30 at the Bulk Mail Center in Dallas). Action list: David: --add info to his flier re: NH bill questioning legality of income tax, NH bill forbidding residents to pay federal income tax --send out his flier to us so we can print some Skip: --call Bulk Mail Center to find out where we can picket --If Richard cannot make it on the 15th, Skip will arrange to pick up signs from Richard (assuming Richard is agreeable to this) Kat: --contact local media, esp. Jim Getz I've printed out 200 of bw fliers from the FSP site, and a handful of the membership packets. List of possible sign slogans: --Fight (or escape) the Internal Robbery Squad --Honk if you hate taxes --Move if you hate taxes. No income OR sales tax in NH --More taxes = less freedom --Abolish (or end) the IRS --End gov't theft --What could you do with 40% (or whatever it is they steal from us) more $$ --Income tax = socialism --Tax Nazis go home --Something about the NH bill questioning legality of the IRS --King George asked for 3% and got the Boston Tea Party....while you voluntarily wait in lines to pay 67% of every dollar earned? --Taxes R 2 High --Paycheck Thieves --Communism didn't die --Socialism doesn't work --Lower Taxes NOW --Medieval serfs gave only 30% to their masters. What does that make you? Richard has said that he can have FSP bumper stickers printed for a resonable rate. All he needs is a good idea for a slogan. I haven't come up with any good ideas, but maybe you all have some. Post them and I'll forward them on to him. Also, my activist program is basically ready to use. Stop by and try it out! Joey: What's the deal on these mailing labels? Have you got a letter we're stuffing envelopes with? Do you have some deal on postage already, or should we put stamps on them?

I talked to the fire department about burning 1040s and they did say we need a burning permit; these usually take at least a week to get. So that is out unless we want to violate the law.
Guys please e-mail all your FSP Dallas contacts and let em know about this Apr. 15 protest and/or flyer handout to people who are turning in their taxes. I'll probably e-mail some but there are addies I'm missing. The protest is still going to be at the US bulk mail facility near I-30 and Hampton (just west of downtown dallas) correct?
I have sent Skip a tax-customized copy of my flyer and will be printing out 50 myself.

Here is a flyer I've done up for our April 15 handout/protest , whatever it is. Printout some of your own if you like, change em if you like. I only plan on printing out about 50 so we'll need more. http://home.earthlink.net/~dadaorwell/fsp5.rtfHere's the text: Fight the Tax Come to New Hampshire for Freedom! Are you as angry as we are about the Internal Robbery Squadron and excessive local taxes? Are you ready to fight for Victory over the intrusive and entrenched tax codes that forced you here today? Would you like to live in a place where your neighbors and your state government stand against the IRS instead of against you? Then join forces with us. Come to New Hampshire. Across this increasingly unfree nation, liberty-minded Americans are packing U-Hauls and departing their homes so that they may be free again in the low-tax "Live Free or Die State." It may be the freest place left in the world. No income or sales tax, no seat belt laws, few gun restrictions. Their legislature has even been considering a law that would make it illegal for NH residents to pay the IRS. With more freedom activists moving in every week at the invitation of the governor, this is just the start. Our ancestors bled and died to stop the 3% tax imposed by the British; this is the least we can do to fight the 50% total tax imposed by our modern rulers. So we invite you to do as we are doing. Vote with your feet. Join us in the Free State. Become the last, best hope for Liberty in Your Lifetime. www.FreeStateProject.org 1.888.532.4604 Dallas chapter: groups.yahoo.com/group/fsp_dfw

I called the Post Office today and found that the BMC is not designated to be open late this year. The Dallas main Post Office at I-30 and Sylvain, east of the BMC, will be open until midnight. We should all plan to meet there instead of the BMC. I think this is the best of all of the locations slated to be open until midnight, which also includes Joe Poole station (I-35 & Hampton), Richland station (635 at Greenville), and at the airport.
The person I spoke with said there is a designated area, she called it a grassy knoll, for demonstrators. I asked if there was access to visitors there, and she suggested I talk to Deena Garza-Duran, the Customer Relations manager at the Post Office. I was unable to reach her today, but I'll try again tomorrow.
She also mentioned that there will be a mail dropoff point at a nearby location that might give better access to people. I'll need to call Deena to get more details.
If anyone else wants to try, just in case I fail to get through, Deena's phone number at Customer Relations is 214 760-4662.

Great Skip! Thanks for doing that I've sent out press releases to Dallas-Forth Worth newspapers and radio, TV stations including the new venue for the protest. This is going to be fun! I'm hoping it generates a lot of questions from people. Thanks to David too for the new flyer! (Hey, I even learned to spell that word ) Kat
